Both a .com and .co.uk are coming up for renewal in March and April respectivly and I am going to try and take them from the current owners, as I want the domains for myself. Is it as simple as when the domain is up for renewal, if the owners don't renew on the renewal day I can get them?
I would have thought with less than a month to go for one of them, they would have renewed by now?
most providers will just keep renewing domain names on the day of expiry
most of it is automated (providers offers a checkbox in their domain management section - "keep renewing my domain names until I tell you not to")
Unless you know the domains are not going to be renewed (company gone under, ISP taken over, etc.) expect the domains to be renewed on the day of expiry
If the owner don't pay the fee, then it will be up for sale again after I think about two weeks. Different providers might have different policies, I'm only familiar with one. You can do a whois search to see when the domain runs out, but I'm sure you know that already. :)
Yeah I already did the search and know the dates they expire, so hoping they would not be renewed so I could get them. Will wait and see :)
Depending on how important they are and what you wish to spend, there are services (through GoDaddy.com, for example,) that will pounce the moment something becomes available on your behalf.
Ah one of them is through GODADDY...

Nope not done anything yet - I have my music page (www.djadamash.com) but this is just my name adamash.co.uk so not sure what I want to do with it yet.
