Help sending files

Okay, so I was at a sleepover, and we recorded a bunch of random clips of sound at like 3 in the morning, high on soda and pie. I now want to email these clips to myself so I can get them on my PC. They're currently on my laptop. I tried to just attach the 15-20 files to an email and send it, but the computer didn't like that and died. So, I'm waiting for the computer to reboot. What do I do? Is there any way I can attach all the files at once. They're all .wav files and they're in a folder, but the email thing won't let me attach a folder. Any advice?

I got a new mic and was playing around... trying it on for size... making sure it worked. And piecing together the background noise for a half-serious musical project. Ever heard "Revolution #9"? That's the basic idea, music with really weird noises in the background.

And while I'm here, can I get recommendations for a good cheap program I can use to throw it all together. Like Garageband, but preferably affordable without selling my soul. I just want somethign where I can combine audio files in an organised manner, and being able to see where the file starts and ends and being able to move it once I add it in would be nice, too.

Zip them.

Select all of them then right click and click on something like "Create Archive" or "Send to Archive"

then just send the zip file.

ZIP most likely will not give the OP high enough compression to send all that data over email. A better bet would be to burn the WAV files to a CD-R or transfer them with a USB flash drive if available.

convert the wave files to mp3
They'll use 1/10th of the space

Wav will be approx 10mb / minute
mp3 will be approx 1mb / minute (depending on what quality you want)

CDex is good
(Foss program /w nice easy GUI - primarily meant for CD -> mp3, but also does wav -> mp3)

iTunes can convert wav to mp3 or AAC. I'd chose AAC as it's got about twice the compression rate as mp3. AACs will run better on your Mac.

Garageband should have come free with your computer, it's part of the iLife package which has been standard software on every Mac for years. Spotlight it, it should be in your Applications folder.

Audacity is a pretty nice audio editor / mixer. I like it better than Garageband.
