I keep getting this MSN error and it won't let me sign in. Any one know or had this problem before?
It's annoying and I've googled it and all the help there seems to do crap all. So anyone feel like helping me?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version? If that doesn't work you can download trillian (i think that's what it's called) which allows you to also log in to the MSN network.
you can also try Pidgin
http://www.pidgin.im/
They're multi-protocol instant messaging clients
(ie. they can connect to MSN, AOL, Yahoo, etc., etc. all from the same program)
A big of googling will reveal all the most likely causes, like firewall config issues.
I've had this problem several times before and been very frustrated with it. I never seem to find an answer to it, I just have to screw around with a hell of a lot of stuff before I get it working again. Usually involves me deleting a bunch of shit I just recently installed, any stuff I don't need, etc, just making as much space as I can on my PC. Also, turning if off on start-up seems to work sometimes, sign-in and out of your hotmail account on hotmail.com.
Sometimes it just takes time, I wait for about two or three days and it usually seems to just start working again....
I have this problem. Tried using Miranda IM as an alternative. Worked last night, but this morning it wouldn't log in.
As for Windows Live Messenger, I used both 8.1 and 8.5 (though this one I had to find a x64-compatible installer for it) and neither would work. Maybe I need to poke at AVG a little. Everything else works fine, but I'll see... at work at the moment, so can't really tweak my firewall settings (though there should be no problem as I had configured it thoroughly previously)
Wow thanks for the help! I looked into my AVG a bit and found something which seems to have worked!
I go into AVG and went tools---advanced settings---web shield---IM messenging---un check MSN.
The apply.
It worked after that! I guess my web shield was blocking it!
