I feel really dumb asking this.
My mother asked me how to print just part of a page from Safari and/or TextEdit and I can't figure it out. I had her pull out the part she wanted into a new file. Help!
We both have OSX Leopard.

nothing in the print dialog for printing selected text?
I don't know what it is you're talking about but! right click, print, page (1 of 30) or what have you.
If you don't have right click... then file, print, page (1 of 30).
I don't know how your OS is because I've only used Windows, but if you're able to take screen shots you could do that, or if you're able to select certain parts of the page and choose that you want to print "selection" you can do that.
I dont know if this will help at all, but what i do is just try to highlight only
the part of the page i want to print and then click on the 'print' icon and
when the printing box comes up, click on 'print selected'. It always works
for me anyway.
I can print individual pages yes, but I just want selected text.
Say I want to print just supreme's post. This is the Print dialogue pulldown.

the only options from right click is Search in Spotlight, Search in Google, Look up in Dictionary, Copy
I know MS Word works with some other OS's besides Windows, and if you copy/paste from a webpage to MS Word it will copy/paste everything, including images, etc. etc.
You could take a print screen and paste that to MS Paint or MSWord, crop it, and then print that.
Yeah, I can copy it to a clipboard, but I can't print directly from the clipboard, I have to put it in another program. That was the workaround that I was using, I was hoping that there was an easier way.
Ah, I do see that Firefox has a Print Selection checkbox. Why do the other programs not have it?
:thanks: What did you google to find that?
