Is there a way to delete it?
format it
(FAT 32)
Formatting it doesn't delete it, it just changes the tables. The formatter should have an option to securely delete the drive before formatting it. It writes 0s over the entire thing a few times. On mine the options are 1x, 7x, and 35x. Seven times should be fine.
Corrupted data, not sensitive data...
I think formatting is enough.
for some reason it says windows is unable to complete the format...
I agree.
This happened to me just a couple weeks ago. I searched the manufacturer's website and was able to find a software utility in the customer support section that would do a hard reset on my flash drive. All the data was lost, obviously, but at least it works again. Try poking around the customer support section of the manufacturer of your flash drive for a similar type of program, or at least advice on what else might work.
It's not a Sandisk cruzer is it? Those have a disk mounted within the disk and you have to remove that before you can format it.
I have no idea what those even look like, so I guess no.
