xbox conection
ok, i know ive been asking a lot of questions on teck talk lately, sorry, but theres just a lot of things i need to know.
my xbox can connect just fine to my wireless router, via my laptop(at my dads house). it took me a while to get it though.
i brought my xbox to my mums house, and i tryed doing the exact same thing (exept to a different wireless router obviously). but it didnt let me make a bridge like what i did at my dads house.
this is what my network map looks like:

this is what i want it to sort of look like:

just so you definetly understand, i want my xbox to be linked to my laptop, then my laptop to the wireless router(in another room)
can anyone help me?

If you did it the second way, you'd need the laptop to be on in order to have a connection for the xbox, if that's even possible.
Probably easier just to get into the router and make it allow the connection. No idea what settings you have to alter though.

ive done this before by going into networks then making a bridge, and it worked. but its not coming up with the same things to make the bridge.
p.s. duhh, of course you need the laptop on, and why shouldnt it be possible. you see, theres a thing called an on button.

ok, ive found the problem, but i dont know how to fix it.
when i open networks, it doesnt come up with the right stuff, it used to, but not any more. here is what it came up with:

thats just folders, instead of actual networks.
does anyone know how to get the networks to come back up?

You're probably SOL on most forums, bar dedicated Vista forums
when most businesses have avoided Vista, for a lot of us there's absolutely no need to know anything about it, tech support-wise
I sure don't
without having physical access to a vista machine, I couldn't tell you how to do anything....
you may want to sign up here and ask
