Hey, I'm trying to figure out this port forwarding so my torrents will go faster, but it says something about me needing to know my IP address and I have no idea what it is or how to go about figuring it out, can anybody help me?

It's much easier to use uPnP
log into your router's web interface
make sure uPnP is enabled
Open up your torrent client
make sure uPnP is enabled
Torrent client will now communicate directly with router, and forward ports automatically
big, big advantages over manual forwarding
(not least you can set your torrent client to randomise it's ports)
I have it set to that but it's not working very well, i keep getting a sign that my port isnt forwarded properly.
you using utorrent?
if I remember correctly,
there's a menu item in help to verify that the ports are accessible from the outside
To get your IP, go to start-run type in cmd. type ipconfig in the command prompt window and hit enter. Your IP should come up.
Zomg, Windows will never be ready for the average user if they have to use the terminal !!!!!
That's your internal IP.
In order to get your external IP, go to websites like www.myip.dk

i can never remember how to find my ip adress. but i know how to find out how to find it, go to help and support bit then type in IP address. then it will come up with a search result like "how to find IP adress"
its something like that, and it is very simple to do, no comand prompt or anything.
Pressing CTRL+R, writing CMD, pressing enter and then writing ipconfig is easier than anything else Windows has to offer.
ok guys i found it, thanks.
