Pretty incredible stuff.
Yeah, I'll bet a lot of that will be created in the next decade. But seeing as it took M$ 7 years to create the Vista disaster, it will not be them that creates any of them. The mobile stuff will be created by Apple, the medical stuff will be created by Medtronic, the commercial stuff will be created by IBM, Sony, and Sun.
Microsoft needs to get their act together and make something useful...
But really, I want to see Apple make a gaming console. I wonder what that would be like?
I don't think they've implemented all of Chicago, let alone Longhorn.....
We have enough game consoles, thank you Slayer.
The video reminds me of those '50s videos of 1999. Where the whole world was wired and everyone had a computer. And it hasn't happened yet. But I guess that what they showed wouldn't be too hard to have, just 2019 is a little soon. I don't think we have come that far since 1999, except for touch screen phones and slimmer TVs. I may be wrong, but drawing animations in thin air is a little ambitious.
2012 comes before 2019....fail
Same thing as my first thought :P
I bet an Apple console would suck, and would cost 2x as much as the other systems, despite having worse hardware. It would also get no games.
Also, you call the iPhone the most powerfull handheld gaming device ever? You best be joking!
Now if they can only figure out how this is going to happen during a recussion.
eh, theres alot of artist vision mixxed in there with the entrepreneur and technician vision.
Oh come on, even if they invent all those things by 2019, they won't be cheap enough for the general population for at least 20-30 more years. Silly Microsoft.
I'll "Oh come on" your "oh come on"....
Name one thing MS has invented in the last 10 years
Hell, the last 20
Everything they do is either rehashing old formulae, or acquired through acquisition
MS has never developed on OS from scratch
The one thing they're most known for, and it's all but fiction
They bought DOS, and rebranded it
They hired engineers from DEC to develop NT for them
MS is not a software company
They're not even a technology company
Microsoft's business is marketing
has been for many, many years
and yet they've managed to screwed that up too :P
I thought that was more like drawing on an electronic device and the image that would be only on the electronic device was being put up in the air for us (the viewers of the video) to see. I may be mistaken though. I thought it was just a visual effect for us, and not necessarily what a person would see in reality.
Name one that's more powerful? Did you say something stupid?

Please look at tech specs before saying random stuff in the tech forum. Most of the people in here know what they're talking about and will call you on such statements.
*cough* Pandora is more powerful than the iPhone (3D hardware wise, by quite a long way) *cough*
but then again, the Pandora is a portable gaming device, rather than a smart phone
Pandora? Enjoy your vaporware. Anyway, it keeps on getting delayed, unfortunately. I thought it looked neat.
Ninja, it might have better specs, but not all of that is dedicated to games. Most of it is going towards the firmware, 3G network, and you know, phone stuff.
Plus, I'd hardly call little apps "games".
IIRC, the iPhone can have games like Mario and stuff like that one it.
Emulators? You can do that on PSP, too. And with actual buttons to press.
That's another problem with the iPhone. It's hard to call it a gaming machine if it has no buttons.
I have lots of games. Better specs means better games. Its lack of games is due to it being very new, the SDK was only released a year ago

This wonderful vision of the future is never going to happen.
Ever watched "back to the future 2"?
We're almost there, and this place still looks a lot like '85 methinks.:P
Better specs does NOT mean better games, sorry. There are probably more DS games that are fun for awhile than iPhone games that are fun for more than a bit. Once again, no buttons, shitty little apps, and it's only popular for its cheap SDK. The iPhone is a phone, not a gaming machine.
Ninja didn't say it was the best, he said that it was the most powerful.
But still I don't know how much of that is allocated to the firmware and 3G etc. like you said, and I'd bet a fair amount of it.
But hey, I still love my iPhone ;)
