I recently acquired a video card, specifically ATI Radeon X1950 Pro.
I plugged it in the computer and hooked it back up, when I turned the computer on all I got was a black screen and continuous beeping.
Any idea as to what this means? I'm afraid I may have damaged something, but google seems to say it has something to do with power supply?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you make sure to connect the video card to the power supply? Do you have a big enough power supply for the card? The specs for that card state that it needs a 450-Watt power supply or greater, 30 Amps on 12 volt rail recommended (assumes fully loaded system).
It's only a 3-4 year old comp. It should be fine. I think I'm missing a 6 slot PCIe plug?

I bought a 8800GTS and it didn't come with all the parts (ebay, but it was brand new and it works great still). It was only missing one part (which I got from a friend for free) but without the part, it would make that loud beeping noise.
I think it's that 6 slot PCIe plug that you're talking about that I didn't have at the time.

Update: Ok, so I got the video card properly installed with proper drivers and proper power supply (it was done by a computer place, they said everything was working fine) I went to use the comp and realized I needed a DVI to VGA adapter, so I bought one.
I have two slots the adapter can plug into the video card, I tried both and it still didn't work. Do I need two adapters one to plug into the video card and one to plug into the monitor? Or am I missing something else? There is an S cable video plug in in between where the adapters can go...Do I need that? This is getting frustrating.
So you have the dvi/vga adapter like this http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2005/...1/vga_dvi1.jpg and then you plug in your vga cable to that adapter and to your monitor and it doesn't work no matter which dvi socket you plug it into? Did you double check that everything was still hooked up properly when you got it back from the shop? If you did all that stuff then I'm at a loss. Do you have a computer savvy friend/relative that could come take a look at it? Oh, and you don't need two adapters.
Yeah it's exactly like that. Not sure wtf is going on.
UPDATE: The adapter was just bad...
Pretty random, but It's fixed now and it looks good. I can run WoW on ultra settings and it runs smoooooth. I just bought a Bioshock and Oblivion combo for like $30 for the PC so I'm gonna test that out tomorrow or the next day and see how it runs the higher-end games.
