For some reason they sent me 2 identical copies...
To tell you the truth I'm not exactly sure what windows 7 really is... I know it's microsoft's latest OS, but didn't vista just come out? It seemed XP lasted forever...
I checked the wiki, but I really don't understand how this is better. I really have no problems with vista. From my experience vista's just as fast on my new computer as XP was on my old one. Any explanations?
Vista has a lot of backenf problems and security holes. Windows 7 isn't a new operating system, it's vista minus the holes in the os. It's still got all the inherent problems of windows. Vista didn't just come out, xp was just out for a very long time. The average turn around of new operating system is about a year.

It's still got some holes, it's got a major problem with security. Luke vista, it's got a comprehensible security system, but you have to turn it off for the system to be useable.

How did you get a free copy of Windows 7?
For me as a personal rule at the very least wait until the first service pack is out and released. You do not need to be in the group of people helping Microsoft find & fix the first wave of bugs.
