A Portable Digital Notebook?

Well now that theres all this talk about the ipad, it's made me remember how much I want a digital notebook! Except I have no idea if one exists or where to look for one. Maybe you techy nerds can help me out?

I'm looking for a digital portable notebook to literally replace paper notebooks. Exactly that and nothing more!! I'm not looking for a portable computer. What I mean is, if I told you I want a portable game device, then you'd tell me to get a gameboy. You wouldn't tell me get a laptop!

I just want to replace paper notebooks because I'm journaling all the time, and I use up so much paper. I've got a computer at home, but I find the creative juices come to me OUTSIDE of my bedroom. I find regular laptops bulky, heavy, expensive, and it has all sorts of crap on it I'm not going to use anyways. . . . So. . . . . does anything like a digital notebook (literally) exist?

(Some people have told me about this pen that records your strokes digitally. But I would still need paper so it defeats the whole purpose anyways.)

Oh thanks for bringing that up! This device looks great, even though I wasn't necessarily looking for anything with internet connection (I guess theyre all going to have internet these days anyways huh?), being able to read on one side and write on the other looks promising!
