I don't know if this counts as a Tech Talk thread or a Help! thread, but this is just as related to my "life" as it is my computer.
I am a kid, living with my parents. I wanted a mod for one of my computer games, but my mom just wasn't going to download it (at least not any time soon), so I went ahead and did it myself.
I need to cover my tracks well. Currently, I have the mod hidden in a folder I delegated to my game's "extra" stuff. Does anybody have advice, technological or otherwise?
:facepalm: yes, this would be Tech Talk, and wholly inappropriate for the Help! forum. You are asking technical advice, not feedback on a sensitive personal issue.
Why do you need to cover your tracks? You're obviously allowed to use the internet, or else you wouldn't be able to post here, so what's the big deal?
At any rate, it's doubtful your parents will go looking for the file, so you probably just have to get rid of the obvious tracks, namely your browser history. If you want specifics on how to delete the entries you want gone, you'll need to post which browser (program to access the internet pages) you're using. If you want to be super careful, you can also delete the cookies related to the websites.
