Just need one last push for WILD success...
Hello,
I've been a casual lucid dreamer, off and on for the past 10 years and all of my lucid dreams to date involved me becoming lucid at the beginning of the dream (I'd instantly know I was in a lucid dream, rather than becoming lucid because of a dream sign or reality check).
I've recently heard of the WILD method and it sounds like one of the most effective ways to become lucid. So far, I've tried it twice and I am always having the same problem at the same point:
- I am able to relax and trick my body into sleeping (my muscles are definitely asleep and heavy)
- I am able to see some colours and the beginnings of images
- I feel like everything is clear and my awareness expands to the point that I feel like I am floating in the sky (or becoming the sky)
- my eyes start to flicker (I'm assuming this is the beginning of REM?)
- I notice I get an erection (maybe some Tantra lines are getting crossed?:cheeky:)
The problem lies in taking the final leap into entering the dream world. I found some possible obstacles that might be holding me back:
- my breath becomes shorter
- I TRY to remain conscious while trying to relax and let go
- I am a bit excited about the new experience actually working (I guess because it's new)
This exact process happened 3 separate times on each attempt and although I will aim for consistent practice, I wanted some advice to steer me in the right direction.
Can anyone relate? Does anyone have any tips that will allow me to enter the dream world rather than approach it?
Thanks,
Steve
