First of all, what do you do after it hits you and nothing happens? |

Okay, so twice now I have experienced this Szhooo of which I speak. It has been during WILD attempts only. Anyways I get to a point where I know that I am right in between the transition from awake to asleep, thus the transitional phase. Shortly after this point I experience Szhooo which is, (for those undoubtedly wondering) the feeling of me being sucked very intensely into a void, thus Szhooo. Both of these occurrences of Szhooo begin very randomly and end very quickly. |

Well, you're probably getting excited, and waking yourself up. It will come with practice |
|
I wait a minute or two to see if any dream forms, and then reality check. |
|
Am I the only person wondering what the hell Szhooo is? |

"I know that I am mortal by nature, and ephemeral; but when I trace at my pleasure the windings to and fro of the heavenly bodies I no longer touch the earth with my feet: I stand in the presence of Zeus himself and take my fill of ambrosia, food of the gods." - Claudius Ptolemy
Well you could always try eating a cheeseburger |

Since no one here is helping, I'll lend a hand. |

I'm not one who has much experience to talk, but you might want to try visualizing a dream scene as this begins to occur, especially if you consider yourself a particularly visual person. I'm pretty sure it'll help distract you from the szhooo, making you not get as excited; plus, it has the benefit of likely being able to transition you into the dream of your choice. Not completely sure it will work, but it's certainly worth a shot. |

Dreaming, I was only dreaming, of another place in time, where my family's from.
Singing, I can hear them singing, when the rain it washed away, all these scattered dreams.

I'm fairly certain I've experienced something similar to this on several occasions. Your description is way too similar to my experiences to simply dismiss. Obviously, the times I've gotten through it were done by ignoring the sensation (to the best of my abilities) and directing my attention elsewhere. Crimson's idea would lend itself well to that, as would a solid anchor, or any number of awareness exercises. Still, you really need to do your best to disregard it. This is because every time I've failed a WILD where this occurred, I didn't properly compensate for the sensation, and it held my focus, preventing me from completing the transition. |
