SP and WILDing the first time going to bed?

Hey guys, I have a question about SP and WILD for when going to bed for the first time at night...

I've recently started consciously getting into what I think is SP the first time I go to bed. I feel myself getting into this physical state where I seem to nearly instantly shut down. Everything physical just shuts and my thoughts seem to become my entire focus. I am able to get the feeling and control back to my body with some effort and will. I don't have any hallucinations or anything though but if I think of something, the image is more vivid than usual. Now I ask... is this SP and if it isn't, what is it?

Now in regards to WILD. Can I use this state to do WILD even if it's the first time I fall asleep in the night? I know the first REM stage isn't even close to happening but could it still work?

Sleep Paralysis means that your body is asleep and paralysed. Try twitching a few arm and leg muscles to see if they are paralysed. Nightime before bed is the worst time of the day to attempt to enter sleep paralysis and WILD. Do it in the morning after a night's sleep.

No No No No no no no no no no no lol...... Please do not attempt to lucid dream at night. It rarely ever works and if it does then it is never as extraordinary as when it is done the right way. Lucid dreaming at night time before bed is nearly impossible because of the natural way the rem period works in all of us and you have to be in REM to have substantially great lucid dreams. The best rem periods and the longest come later in the night after several hours of sleep. Don't just take my word on it, look anywhere in these forums or asks anyone with lots of lucid dreaming experience and they will tell you the same thing. I was a newbie myself with 0 lucid dreams to my credit less than a year ago. I haven't even updated my ld status number in a while but I am now well over 80, having strings of lucid dreams some days. Take my advice and attempt lucid dreaming early in the morning after sleeping. Not when you go to bed. Good luck... Gary
