My WILD problem
Hey guys. I haven't been on this site or even attempting to lucid in a while, but I'm looking to get back into it, practice practice practice, and finally have my first high quality lucid dream. The thing is, whenever I try to Wild, I face the same issue. I use the mind wake, body asleep technique, were you trick yourself into thinking you're asleep. But I end up laying there for hours, still firmly aware of my surroundings, and frustrated. Sometimes I think I'm entering SP: My heart starts beating fast, I get a little giddy because I think its happening. But then I just feel normal again. Maybe I'm over thinking it, and therefore I cant fall asleep. Idk.
BTW, I do try to sleep at least 5 hours before attempting this.

Sounds like you're pretty close to entering the dream. But you're right, you may be over-thinking and getting too excited to make the transition. Try counting your breaths quietly in your head to keep other fleeting thoughts at bay. This is the trickiest part of WILDing, staying aware but keeping the thoughts and excitement to a bare minimum so that your body can fall asleep.
