I keep falling asleep!
I had been failing at hitting sleep paralysis for about 3 weeks, although I was lying on my bed still, not moving, not swallowing, not scratching, and completely relaxed. Even with WBTB technique, I was just staying awake for 40+ mins. Occasionally I would get this falling sensation, but nothing happened afterward, so i rolled over and went to sleep.
So I decided to let my mind wander free for the first 5 minutes once I lay on my bed. Now I'm falling asleep too well! I can count up to 100 or so, but out of the blue, I find myself having some random thoughts(cannot remember the count at this point) and the next thing you know, I black out and fall asleep.
Should I start counting as soon as I lie on my bed, or should I spend some time letting my mind wander?

I know the feeling !!! I gave up after a few months and switched to having WILD's immediately upon waking. Much easier and successful for me.

Thanks for the inputs! I've been reading "School of out of body travel" today and also got some dark chocolates. Hopefully I'll hit sleep paralysis sometime soon. :cheeky:

I've been having the same problem. The only time I almost achieved a WILD, and got into SP, was when I suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of tiredness at about 7pm. I had drunk coffee and had had barely any sleep the night before. All of my WBTB WILD attempts have resulted in failure. If I don't stay up for long enough, my mind just drifts. If I stay up for any longer than that, I can't fall back asleep. I too had the problem of intending to count, and somehow getting lost along the way and finding myself thinking about something.

I can't sleep. :(
I focus on my clock, might help. I kind of make a rythm with my mantra
'the next time i dream i will realise i'm dreaming'
and it goes tick tock tock tick tock tock tick tock tock tock tock tock
lol
try that? xD

Sometimes people don't "feel" SP and just go right into the dream without realizing. I know it's happened to me before, except I got frustrated thinking I failed and then woke up for real. So maybe try doing an RC when you feel that falling sensation?
