correct balance?
Hello, I am new to lucid dreaming and it seems that whenever i try to WILD, I can never seem to find the correct BALANCE between keeping the brain occupied with something but not too occupied with something that you cannot fall asleep. Too often have I just fallen asleep and many times I have stayed awake that I just get frustrated and fall asleep hoping to catch a DILD, but since I do not have sufficient dream recall, that usually doesn't work. Please let me know what you guys do and what I can do to get better at this. THank u!!

First off, make sure you are trying to WILD with a WBTB or during day time naps. Though it is possible to WILD upon first entering sleep, it is generally more difficult and can result in a lot of wasted effort. Try not to get frustrated and keep as positive an attitude as possible. If you doubt you will succeed, then chances are...you won't. The correct balance is something that you will learn through practice and experience. Keep practicing and with each failure, tweak your approach and try again. I like to simply observe the darkness. The key use to observe everything as if you are watching a half interesting video. Watch/observe everything, but don't try to pick out details or hang on to a single thought for too long. Just let everything come and go as it pleases. Stay calm and as relaxed as possible through it all. Always keep in mind that you are going to "watch" yourself fall asleep. hope I helped out a bit, if you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.
