Maybe this could help someone...
I've never aspired to WILD before, and I've never tried. In fact, I haven't been lucid in a very long time.
I figured I would post this in case it could aid someone.
I went to bed at around 1:30 AM, set the alarm for 8 AM, fell asleep, and called into work to stay home that day after the alarm went off. I didn't go straight away into sleep again. Instead, I stayed up tinkering on the laptop. I made a small breakfast at about 11 and sprawled out at 12:30, when I was able to fall asleep.
I immediately was aware I was dreaming. In fact, my sense of hearing wasn't even in the dream. All I heard was my breathing in bed. I remember staring straight on at what was a garage door set in a brick wall. I was focusing on my breathing, and my vision became sharper and sharper. Before I knew it, I felt like my breathing was as real as ever. It just felt as if the air became alive and easy to breathe.
Unfortunately, I couldn't decide what to do first, and even though I kept pulling myself deeper into sleep, I kinda gave up, thinking I was being rushed, and woke up.
I fell back asleep almost immediately and came into another dream. I was in a car driving, but I knew I was dreaming so I just stopped driving. Again, my sense of hearing was gone. I watched a few cars collide and heard nothing. Woke up again.
Again, I forced myself back to sleep, and I awoke on the road again. Except now it was raining. I don't remember hearing anything, so I assume it was the same as before. It took me a moment to realize I was dreaming in this one, however. I remembered that we weren't expecting rain, and it hadn't rained in a while. That knocked me out of the dream again.
I fell back asleep yet once more, and this time I made no real attempt to dream at all. I just wanted to nap at this point. I did in fact dream again. I was partially lucid this time. I was standing in a dim room which I assumed was my house. It wasn't long before I realized that I didn't recognize the place at all. I looked at the window, and what I thought were people looking in at me were just reflections of ghosts (if that makes any sense). I decided that these people were curious about what was going on. It was eerie.
Right as I thought that, I felt a tingling sensation on every part of me from behind. I felt a strong, demanding pull and suspension. Before I knew it, I was being propelled backwards through the floor. I was lucid, but I decided to 'go with it'.
I actually remembering thinking sarcastically, "Oh great. Maybe I'll get shown what Hell is like." I also thought that was stupid of me to think, as any suggestion might become part of the dream.
So, through the floor I went. This part really reminds me of all my attempts in the past to have an 'out of body' experience. I could feel myself swimming backwards through the floor boards, the particles, the basement, and out. I even saw the ends of my feet in front of me, at the will of whatever was taking me away. Instead of descending into Hell (as I assumed I would be, as I was going downwards), I ended up reeling backwards through a forest of pine trees in the darkness of night.
I woke up right there. My backside from head to toe was tingling awfully, but I was sleeping on my stomach. All this happened within maybe 20 minutes.
I was able to fall asleep again and dream til 5PM without becoming lucid. Weird, no?
