This occurred at 4:00, after a late REM cycle I think. First, I closed my eyes and there was this vanilla-colored flash when I closed my eyes. Minutes later, I hear a bell, very similar to a train bell, but find that I am awake, then I go back to sleep for an hour, then get up. Would anyone know if that was a false awakening? Or what? :shock:
a vanilla colored flash?.. you probably were awake how tired where you at 4?
In between tired and awake, it happened when I just laid down during the attempt
Always do a reality check when you think you've woken up while trying to do a lucid dream. I cant count the amount of times I've been able to enter a dream through a false awakening.

It sounds like a false awakening. I definitely agree with the above comments, try RCing next time. During the night I prefer doing the nose plug RC as it doesn't require getting up and moving around. Just plug your nose and breath in. If air fills your lungs... you're dreaming!
