How do you go about your WBTBs? Everyone has a certain amount of time they can stay up without becoming too wide awake for WILDing. I stay up for ten minutes, because any longer and I wake up too much; for others it's more or less time. The best time to WILD is from 4 - 6 hours after waking; I'm assuming you've tried that already though, so moving on.
Have you tried any relaxation techniques, such as reverse blinking or deep breathing? Jeff's free-falling WILD technique is also great for inducing SP.
Another thing to consider is maybe you'd enter SP easier during a nap 5 - 6 hours after waking up. You could even try a time earlier than that - sometimes, I wake up early and then go back to bed within two hours, and I can hit SP just like that, because I'm sort of tired and still "waking up".
I seem to dream more during my naps too, especially if I just had a late night. I actually took a nap a few hours ago, and had one of the longest dreams I've ever experienced. :P
You just reminded me how tired I am. NAPTIME. :D
