When you WILD the whole idea behind going to sleep and waking back up is to interrupt a REM cycle that's what will increase the chances of a successful wild even if you think you are tired enough to wild it is usually only more advanced LDers that can wild without sleeping
Oh and when you are in SP you what to just relax and clear your mind you will probably see hypnagogic imagery which basically is the dream forming but don't pay too much attention to one image only when there is a definite scene forming is when you can concentrate on it
I always have the issue of paying more attention to the imagery and less attention to resisting to swap positions, then lose it instantly. It's like I don't even tell my body to change, it just rolls over and stretches.
That said, back in my days of Nightly LDs (2-6 a night usually.. damn. how'd i let that go.) WILDs were my favorite technique. Sleep paralysis is awesome if you don't get wrapped up in it. Full body vibration with loud noises and flashy imagery.. then a lucid. Best experiences of my life if you ask me.
Since i have no schedule this summer might try it.
When first going to sleep was always just as good as in cycle. That's when I change positions. When waking up at night now I just fall asleep.. lol.
I used to find it great technique to wake up and say "k, awake." and fall asleep literally ten seconds later. I guess I need to try something different.
Is use of a phone not recommended or okay if I let go of it ten minutes before I go back to sleep? I don't live alone so I can't entertain myself.
I wouldn't recommend it because to do anything on a phone (whether it's talk text or play games) it's kinda a bright light which isn't good for the eyes . but I would limit yourself to walking around or if you play like an instrument or even singing or listening to some soft music
Yeah. I'll probably play an instrument and listen to music. But bass isn't exactly quiet even unplugged, and I live in an apartment now.
I guess I can wake up, write in DJ, listen to music and air drum. Then ponder on dreaming. Haha.
I might throw Really's Ultimate Lucid Induction MP3 in. My rehash with reminders every few hours though. But Really gets credit for the initial song. ;)
