Exploring Hypnogogia

I have been recently getting much more serious about lucid dreaming again, been keeping a journal now for 3 years and have had 22 lucids, a handfull have been life changingly amazing. I am now determined to master the state and acheieve my lucid goals.

But before that...Over the last few years i have experienced a very large amount of SP episodes(sometimes i have percived myself outside my body) and I have been fascinated by the varitey, clarity and "vividity" of the images that impress themselves atop your conciousness during the Transition From SP to Lucidity...even if you dont reach lucidity.
Often i will be so amazed by what i see that i will wake up..

This strange state produces "hallucinations" of all the senses and can be more clear then most non lucid dreams...

So my question here is, what are you guys making of this? Is your transition imagery as fascinating as mine? whats the most amazing thing you've seen, heard or otherwised sensed without actaully becoming lucid..

The most vivid hallucination's I've had is when I was trying to WILD and simply visualised myself standing on a cliff. Suddenly the dream engulfed me and it became a clear starry night and I jumped off the cliff and went into free-fall until about half way down, when I caught myself and flew away. Apart from that one time, the most I've managed to get when trying to WILD is some trippy colours, but a lot of people say they have really intense imagery.

What I have noticed though is that in most cases when you pay attention to it you can consciously change the hypnogogia that you see or hear. Can you describe any of the cool imagery you've seen? :D

first off thats some cool experience there. Interesting how you talked about infuencing the imagery you see becuase that is indeed a possibiltiy.
I have done it on a few occasions but i usually prefer to simply be passive and detached and see waht happens!

personally, some of the vivid Hypnogogic imagery i have had has stuck in my haad for days on end since it was so powerfull in its clarity!

The other night i just randomly saw an evening sky, a HDTV crystal clear wall of orange clouds that blew me away!


I saw last ngiht a quick flash of a stunningly lit orchard with line upon line of trees in the mid evening light and each leaf was just amazingly vivid..

I've seen random flashes of galaxies and stars and even planets.,

I've had very strange ones too, totally random like a spoon lifting a potatoe out of a jar and it was soooo clear!

So much more, i will delve into my dream journal as it really can get insane!
