WILD vs MILD
Hi I'm quite new to lucid dreaming and I was wondering which technique is the most reliable and effective. I'm using MILD to try and induce a lucid dream because it looks pretty easy to do.
Is it true that WILD is quite difficult and that beginners will struggle with it?

Yes it is, because it is hard to relax and yet stay awake.
Also because finding your REM cycle can be hard.
Read as many guides as you can, any problems post in the WILD section!

Thanks. Have you done any WILDs before? If so, how was it?

That depends on what WILD technique you use. For example DEILD is something newbies can pracctise too.
But I would recommend that you start out with DILD and MILDs just to get used to dreams and see if it suits you.
Most of the people get some lucid dreams with DILDs then they stop and start pracctise WILDs because they get more realistic lucid dreams, and the process is controled.
Although there are guys life Puffin for example who can DILD almost allways :D So try the basic stuff first.
Read my DJ if you want to read about my experiences with DEILD which is a type of WILD.

If you are new to LDing, I recommend trying the all day awareness techniques in order to get started.
I have had several WILDS and they are truly a unique experience. Sleep paralysis can make you feel like you are sliding off of your bed, falling through the earth, or just experiencing the most intense vibrations ever. I love the SP that accompanies WILDs, however it is so intense that I am quite sure it has scared many people off of LDing.
