I would suggest starting pracctising DEILD, because then you only need to focus 5 seconds on the awakening.
It's not as easy as it sounds though, but it's still easier than a traditional WILD.
But if you still want to continue with traditonal WILD the 61 point relaxation technique is pretty good.
I don't recommend alcohol
Altho alcohol probably has destructive effects on the body. I heared a very loud beeping noise when i was trying to sleep that i hear so much about and is common before a wild. But the sensation of being swirled around makes it hard to get to sleep or stay in a comfortable position. Also , the dehydration that goes with it had me grasping for water every 5 minutes.
But i suppose that alcohol can be useful for attaining a WILD. Because if you can focus on the beeping noise it might aid transition.
You could always try some herbs known as dream herbs. Those are generally safer and give mental clarity and makes you more focused in the moment that you are in. Common side effects are sweating and increased temperatures. Which makes it hard to sleep for some people. But if you are trying to do a wild, that's exactly what you want right? So it doesn't have to be a problem.
Can you give examples of dream herbs please?
Calea zacatechichi
That's about the only plant i know that has been used specifically for dreaming. :P
I would suggest practicing without the use of supplements, but I have heard small amounts of caffeine help some people. I've never used it though. Most stimulants would be too intense to be able to sleep. Nicotine might work? I've heard of people having really weird dreams with nicotine patches on.
