WILD Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
Just to like a few of the most popular ones.
When it comes down to it, all methods of WILD rely on the same principal - keeping yourself awake, just on the brink of consciousness and then allowing your body to fall asleep, to smoothly transition into a dream while retaining consciousness. All techniques and methods are just different ways of helping yourself allow this to happen :)
Dark_Merlin has posted some excellent links. A basic WILD is simply tricking your body into falling asleep while your mind remains conscious, but many people create their own variations or figure out some methods to make WILDing easier - so I'd definitely recommend reading as many different guides as you can to learn these methods! :)
While there's different "variations" of WILD, there's also a subtype of WILD called DEILD, or dream exit initiated lucid dream. Instead of waiting for sleep paralysis to kick in, you wake up from a dream without moving so your body thinks you're still asleep, sending you back into a dream in a matter of moments. Both WILD and DEILD involve SP but DEILD is much quicker and often involves less hallucinations.
Thanx
I was thinking maybe there was other subtypes like Deild?
Not really; WILD and DEILD are the two main types. :3
But there are many different ways of doing them, but the principel is the same:
The goal is to overdrive or strain the nervalsystem which collapses and you start to hallucinate. Normally you are unaware of this happening, but when you WILD/DEILD you are trying to do it consciously and therefore you might experience some weird things like hearing, seeing or feeling different sensations, you have proabably heard of them here on the forum, people call this state sleep paralysis.
When you get to this "state" you are already dreaming and everything you think manifests, now you must try to distinguish between reality and dream.
Usually you are already dreaming now and are actually laying in a dreambed, so you can just get up, but it's a gamble, so you can instead try to visualise yourself getting up and imagine a new body to safely separate.
DEILD:
After each awakening you are already in this state and if you don't move you will remain in that state. But if your not in the REM stage your dreams will not feel real, and there is no point of trying.
This take some time to learn, but it's worth the effort.
Normal WILD:
When you do a traditional WILD, like in the guides Dark Merlin sent you, you are trying to reach that state by staying aware and feeling different sensations and still keep a calm mind.
This is more controlable, because when you learn the different sensations you know where and why you did not succeed if you failed.
This take longer time to do, but when you know how this is the best method of them all, because you never lose the awareness.
I know this was kind of a repeat of what the other have said, but it's a good way of deciding what to do, and remember that it differs from people to people.
Some prefer DEILD and some prefer Normal WILD. So try BOTH!
And don't be afraid to ask if you need help!
