Nausea after WILDing?
I couldn't find any topics about this, so I decided to ask!
I tried to WILD during my usual naptime for about an hour and fifteen minutes today. All my attempts were unsuccessful, but they were closer than I've ever come, I think. During the last attempt, I was really struggling against losing awareness and just falling asleep. Finally, I gave up and decided to try again some other time.
But when I sat up, I felt really nauseous. My head kind of hurt, too. The nausea, which was pretty strong, a bit like having a low-fever stomach bug, stuck around for about ten minutes. I mentioned it to my boyfriend, who said he also felt nauseous after some WILD attempts last night.
So I was wondering if anyone else has ever felt this? Do you know the cause? It's not a huge deal, but I am extremely curious and kind of don't want it to happen again.
Thanks.

Hmmm. That's odd. I've never heard of that happening after someome WILDs. It certainly hasn't happened to me Maybe it was something you and your boyfriend ate last night? How long did you feel nauseous? Are you sure it was from attempting to WILD? Why don't you try it again and see if you still feel sick?

Well, it could just come from napping in the day. The past few days, my WBTBs have not made me sick (though I am suffering from some serious insomnia, unrelated to lucid dreaming) but any daytime WILDs have caused that same feeling. The nausea lasts about ten to fifteen minutes max, but the sort of sick, surreal feeling, like when you stay up late with a cold, sticks around for a while after. It's extremely weird.
I guess I'll stop trying in the day, at least for a while. I'm probably also going to put my night time attempts on hold until I know I'll be able to fall back asleep.

Nope, I think the nausea is normal. I haven't had any solid experience with WILDing, but I have taken many naps during the day last year waking up feeling really nauseous and headachy like you described. I don't know why it is, but I'm guessing it's because it's not part of your natural sleep cycle.
Odd, because for me the feeling can last for over an hour. :)

Maybe it is connected to the circulation or blood pressure going down and then getting up too quickly. Before I started practicing WILDs, I was always very groggy after taking a nap during the day. But when practicing WILDs I consciously do relax deeply while staying aware. Now I am usually refreshed after "meditative" naps, if I succeed having a WILD or not.
It might help to first start wiggling ones toes and fingers, then stretch and get up nice and slow.
It might be also connected to how you practice WILDs. As when I stay in bed in the morning for much longer, just lying there half asleep. I actually start feeling more tired and groggy when getting up, this can last for almost the whole day.

never been nauseous after WILD'ing successful or not, but I do seem to get tired after LD's for some reason
