      WILD Question

      Hello everyone,

So one of my biggest fears with WILD, being someone who has only LD'd through WILDs, is what if you WILD and your brain does not put you into REM?

I know late at night, the brain goes to light sleep first for a while before REM. If i try to WILD in the beginning, fall asleep but do not REM, will I get stuck in light sleep until REM starts being conscious? Or will my brain force REM because of the WILD technique?

I'm not sure if my question makes sense, but it is a big fear to be paralyzed for that long. =/

      Thanks.

Sleep paralysis only occurs during REM sleep. With WILD techniques, you lay completely still, and convince your brain that you are asleep and in SP. Then the real SP kicks in and you immediately go into REM. Hope this helps!

May it also be known that you can have a dream in non REM. Its rare, and who knows maybe it'll be a shit dream, but not hitting REM is not a problem. Chances are you just won't notice much until you get into the REM stage.

You can't become paralyzed before REM as Spyguy said (at least not to my knowledge). SP is usually precursor to a dream, so being in such a state isn't something that needs to be worried about. I've been lucid dreaming for years and have had thousands of lucid dreams, I usually just relax and try to stay still, so I've never noticed paralysis at all in my life.
