Something that I don't understand about WILD is at what point one starts to lucid dream. Is it a little after SP kicks in? I guess I'm having trouble grasping the concept of how one goes from being conscious on one's bed to being immersed in a dream. How can the dream acquire enough detail so that the dreamer basically just "walks in" a scene knowing that he/she is lying on bed?
You usually transition into the dream within 10 or so seconds of entering SP, though this varies from person to person. Also, it sounds like you're trying to WILD without prior sleep which is insanely difficult and time consuming. It's best to get 5 or 6 hours of sleep before attempting a WILD.
Hi. Thanks for replying. I'm not trying to attempt WILD prior to sleep. I tried it this morning when I woke up after 6 hours of sleep.
So, once you enter SP your conscious mind just walks into a dream?
I can't say for sure as I've never actually had a successful WILD, but I have read into the subject extensively. From what I've read, you typically picture yourself in a setting and then the scene becomes realer and realer until you eventually are engulfed in it.Quote:

"When I'm in sleep paralysis, I stay calm and don't think of anything (but I plan to practise on how to use visualisation in the transitions). When they're gone, the blackness have turned into my room. I'm in my bed, and I know I'm dreaming (but I still do a reality check to stabilise the dream a little before I get out of bed)."
This is the visualization technique, and I've actually never been able to do it. It's best for those who have very vivid imaginations, and it might be difficult for a beginner to try since the dreamworld is usually more unstable.Quote:

My transition is like this. I can tell when I transition into SP because my awareness changes...it's a little difficult to describe. But after that I feel vibrations come over my body, sometimes mild, sometimes more intense. Even though my body is vibrating, I'm losing track of the specifics of my body. I can't tell if my hands are vibrating or what. So it feels like the vibrations are accelerating me through something, and then they fade. Sometimes I can still feel my body, so I have to separate my dream body from my real one. If I don't feel my body, I can open my eyes, and I'm in my room. So basically I close my eyes, ride the sensations, and open them back in my room, but in a dream. And I'm completely conscious, though sometimes I'll find myself doing irrational things.
I see, so after going through SP getting into a dream should not be too hard. Thank you for clearing that up. I'll give it a try.
