how to breathe for deild or wild

well last night i had a semi lucid recognized the end of it and stayed completly still and kept my eyes closed and stayed there for at least 40 seconds . i started seeing alot of fuzzy film looking type stuff and was entering sp. but as i started breathing i eneded up losing all of that
i was kind of nervous im new to this my question is how do you breathe when trying to re eneter a dream or sp do you not even think about it or are long slow breathes better maybe fast ones idk. please let me know.

I wonder if different breathing makes any difference. Probably you were paying too much attention to it. Do everything naturally.

Ideally, you want your breathing to be the same as it'd be if you were asleep. Don't pay too much attention to it and just breathe normally. And you definitely don't want to hold your breath or start hyperventilating! :P

Just don't even think about it. When you enter SP you lose your ability to control your breathing, anyway.

Oh god that sounds scary lol, not being able to control your breathing. >.>
I've been trying to have WILD's for a while now, no success yet lol.

I read on here a while back about elongating your breathing to mimic the body's breathing when you're asleep, to trick it into SP.

So I tried that this morning a few seconds after coming out of a dream and it did actually work, felt myself sinking in SP and a lucid. Unfortunately, I also got the massive urge to swallow and when I did - my mouth was actually dry - woke me straight up.

from what iv exprienced so far iv found out that in your mind the % of focus you have on the physical world must be much less then e.g dream, or SP, or visualisations. iv made this mistake few times , where i tried to maintain the dream scene as i felt it was fading away id try and focus on breathing in the hope of staying relaxed and keeping dream scene, but i realized that only accelerates your departure from the dream scene. Because you dont notice breathing in a dream, you only notice it while your awake, so by puting focus on it means your focus is on awake state.

you have to put your focus on your surrounding and just observing what happens with out any emotion, as if there is any spike in emotion youll begin to wake up. Only have some attention on the awareness that your lucid so it doesnt go away and maintain it by reminding your self regulary.

Are you referring to sleep paralysis felt before entering a dream or felt after exiting from a dream? I find it behaves differently depending on when it's experienced. When I feel it immediately after exiting from a dream the strength of it can vary greatly because it's already begun letting go at that point. I might not be fully paralyzed and my breathing can some times be controlled. When I feel it before entering a dream it takes hold completely. The only way I can control my breathing is if I try to break the SP.

Specifically, try to breath through your mouth, if you breath through your nose your jaw is clenched making it harder to become completly relaxed. Start out breathing normally then slow it, then switch up breathing rates as you get closer to sp.

I am referring to when I am in SP before a dream, since I have never woken up into SP. Whenever I try to breathe I seem to be successful with it, in both lucid dreams and SP (I hold my breath to wake up and to get out of SP if I decide to do so). What about eye movements? Have you ever tried to move your eyes in SP?

I can move my eyes just fine in SP. Or I can shift my vision at least. I assume my eyes are following.

So during SP would you be able to make yourself take a short breath followed by a long breath followed by another short breath and still succeed in entering a dream? Or does taking control of it always break SP?

I'm wondering if maybe my inability to control breathing is actually a hallucination. Now that I think about it I can't remember the last time I tried to control it. I'm so used to letting go entirely. I'll have to do a little experimenting.

I have never tried to change the breathing rate; I have only tried to stop the breathing. Holding my breath has always gotten me out of SP, so I use that idea to get out if I need to get out of SP.
