Trouble achieving Sleep Paralysis

I have been trying to WILD for a few nights now. I am definitely not an experienced Lucid Dreamer, but I am a natural one ever since I was a child. It used to happen a lot more, but now it happens a few times a year or more.

I have always had excellent dream recall though. If I am journaling, it is extremely uncommon for me to record less than three dreams a night. I can usually remember dreams for several days without journaling.

I am very good at remaining still. The only problems I frequently run into are twitchy eyes, and having to swallow because my mouth fills with saliva.

The first night I attempted a WILD, I just simply relaxed myself to sleep.

The last few nights though, I have been a bit more successful. I know I am on the cusp of SP, but I don't know what I am doing wrong.

My body gets extremely relaxed, and I start feeling my pituitary gland secret melatonin (I think) as I feel waves of pleasure emanate from my forhead. I lose sensation of my body. Then my eyes start moving very erratically and start getting very painful. It feels just like a pressure headache you might get behind your eyes.

It takes a lot of control to keep my eyes closed. One of two things happens at this point: I choose to exert the control and force myself out of the state I am in because of the exertion, or I let everything run its course and my eyes flutter open, breaking me out of the state.

I can't seem to get an answer on lucidipedia or /r/luciddreaming. Please help.

I never had something like this but I would suggest you to get a sleeping mask, the pression of the mask helps keeping your eyes closed if it's the problem you are having. I also need to get a mask cause sometimes my eyes start to open when I see hypnagogic imagery.

Try the reverse blinking method which is one of the techniques I use, you close your eyes for a minute and within every few seconds just slowly flick your eyes open and then close but don't use too much force when reverse blinking. After a while your eyes will seem tired and heavy which is good for maintaining them closed. And by the way, that sensation on your forehead is what I've learnt from other sources to be the minds eye/third eye. It's the source where all your visual imagination comes from including dreams. For me I wouldn't exert the force in the forehead because I did this and my eyes started twitching and got to the point where tears came out and also broke me out of the state. I would just pretend it's nothing :D

I can't advise much, but I'd say you are worrying too much, just chill out and try to enjoy any sensations which arise!
