WILD tips and tricks?
I am about to attempt another WILD tonight, I need the number 1 things to do, and not to do. I am aiming to make this my first successful one. I have good dream recall, and have had several DILDs. Any tips from people who have done it before. I realize it is different for everyone, just general stuff.
Thanks.

One thing that has worked for me is finger tapping. As you are falling asleep, alternate tapping your first and second finger. When I did it, I fell asleep and dreamt that I was still tapping my fingers, did a reality check and BOOM, I was dreaming. Although, the dream was very short because I got too excited, but it did work.

Although attempting a WILD can greatly increase your chances of becoming lucid during the night it doesn't work that great itself, some people recommend getting 4-6 hours of sleep and doing DEILD, or 6.5 hours and doing WBTB.
I think that doing WILD from the first time you go to sleep can introduce you to the process of falling asleep, and even let you experience hypnogogia, but it won't help you actually reach a lucid dream unless you use a further technique like DEILD or WBTB.

True. Sorry, I thought he was referring to attempting his WILDs after WBTB. I didn't mean for you to try this if you are just going to sleep for the first time that night. :)

Probably was, but when I started I made the mistake of trying WILD right into sleep.

I was talking about after WBTB. Thanks for the tips. So, it is 'okay' to move, until you are relaxed?
-
Yeah, it's ok to move, just try not to move around too much. I've found with myself, that the more I dont actually do the things that I have an urge to do, the more I think and harp on it in my mind, thus preventing the actual relaxation. So it's better to just go ahead and move around/sratch/swallow etc and then move on to relaxing so you don't think about it too much

Alright, I'll try that. Thanks for your help everyone.
