What Happened?
Last night, I couldn't fall asleep until around 4am. When I did, I thought I'd try counting backwards from 100 to fall asleep, along with a mantra. After getting to around 30, I noticed that the volume of my breathing suddenly became lower. I could barely hear my breathing. A couple of seconds later, my body started vibrating intensely. I was unsure of what to do, so I just laid there. A little bit after, my eyes just opened up by themselves and I was staring at my ceiling. I did a reality check, and it I wasn't dreaming :( What happened? I'm think the vibrations were apart of the WILD process, but I'm still not sure why my eyes just opened up like that.

I believe you were too aware/tense to successfully WILD. I remember having that issue long ago, when trying WILD without prior sleep. The best conditions for a successful WILD occur after sleeping for at least a few hours. I myself prefer doing WILD in the morning after 6+ hours of presleep.
You'll have to find what conditions suit you best:).
Try this and make sure you are fully relaxed for your next attempt, relaxed eyes are vital aswell:). If relaxation and presleep doesn't cut it, you may want to invest in a sleep mask. A black blindfold might work aswell.
Good luck, Tucane:)
