Stabilizing WILDS/DEILDS
So, I have been trying DEILDS for about a week now, and WILDS for a month. I've only done one WILD, and three DEILDS, because I chained them. Ive also had two DILD or maybe MILDS, Im not sure the difference between the two, honestly.
My question is about stabilization during a DEILD or WILD. Whenever I've done one of these, the dream seems half formed, like I have to constantly fight feeling my physical body in my bed. I will start to go into a dream, and I will try to stabilize, by spinning, and rubbing my hands. However, it never seems to help. So my dreams last from ten seconds to a minute if im lucky.
Last night though, I did a reality check in one of dreams, and it was great. The dream felt like reality, which was amazing. And i had perfect control. By far the most entertaining lucid I've had so far, and it lasted for about five minutes, then my alarm went off :/ I think it would have gone on for a lot longer without the interruption however. Is there anyway for a DEILD or WILD to reach that type of quality?

First DILD vs MILD. DILD is a class of lucid dreams. Any LD that starts with you in a non-lucid state, that transitions into a lucid state is DILD. MILD is just the assortment of tricks you use to enhance your chance of having a DILD. Thinking about LDs all day= MILD technique, Doing tons of RCs=MILD technique , chanting a mantra as you fall asleep=MILD technique . The lucid dream that results from all that hard work= DILD. You can classify the DILD as a MILD because you used a technique to achieve it, but the term DILD is enough.
WILD is very likely to start either before REM hits or just at the first seconds of REM. This means it is not going to resolve into a truely vivid dream for a few seconds or a few minutes. The trick is to stay with it. The dream may begin and collapse a few times, or the dream may be in black and white line drawings, that is just because you are aware, yet not yet firmly in REM. The answer to your question is to enjoy the dream for what it is and stabilize through doing things, like you have tried. If you can stabilize it, then shortly you will enter proper REM and have a vivid LD. Just because the LD starts and collapses does not mean you should end your WILD attempt. It means you are really getting close and need to stay asleep and keep working on it. Lets call them false starts. You may experience half a dozen false starts, but will eventually be able to pull off a true LD. WILD is a tough and brutally hard mental discipline. If you have made it that far in only a month, then you should be proud!

Oh! Ha, it all makes sense now. I had looked up MILD techniques, and then I joined here and started seeing DILD pop up everywhere, and it made no sense. Thank you very much for the clarification, Sivason.
Wow, that's incredible! Thank you so much!! I had no idea. If I had known this before, I would most likely pulled off three WILDS. I cannot thank you enough, this will help tremendously!
Yeah, WILDS are very difficult. Thank you :) I'm just stubborn, I did one every night for three weeks.
I am now excited for tonight!
