      Success ( ? )

      Hey all,

Just a couple questions... Ive had lucid dreams fairly often over the last year (1/2 a week maybe?), but almost all of these have been from randomly doing a reality check while in the dream.

I have tried WILD many many times and have yet to have success. Today, however, i recently heard that an afternoon nap is an excellent time to become lucid as you jump almost directly into REM, so i gave it a shot.

I had been awake for about 6 hours already that day, and was quite tired. I fell asleep and my WILD failed, and ended up in a non-lucid dream.

Then i woke up, reality checked, and went right back to sleep... and what felt like less than 15 seconds I was experiencing a very weak version of my typical transition into the dream state. Usually I feel like I am being sucked through a worm hole with all kinds of loud, oscillating siren type noises, but today I felt weaker, weird pulling sensations with no noise. I wasn't sure if i had transitioned so i just did a reality check anyway, and i was in a dream!

It was very strange because what felt like 10 seconds ago, I was awake and aware in reality, then upon closing my eyes again and letting go of my body, I was in a dream!

SOrry for the extensive details, now my questions:

      1. I thought your body had to enter sleep paralysis before you dream so you dont act out your dream, did i just go through SP in the 10 seconds after I went back to sleep and went into the dream???? It seems like such a short time for such an important physical process to take place, especially since I didn't notice and from what I hear it is quite a noticeable process.

      2. I just read something about DEILD, is that closer to what I achieved than a true WILD?

      3. Every time i become lucid, my orientation is completely messed up. I typically wake up in my bed, and have a sideways view of my room as if i am laying down. I reality check, then stand up, but i still have the same sideways vision, despite feeling as though i am standing straight up. Try to imagine that, it is not pleasant haha. I also feel very sluggish and heavy, as if i am trying to move through a pool of molasses. It is really dizzying and distracting, and i think i put so much emphasis on trying to fix it that sometimes i just drop out of the dream. Normally i can fix it in about 10 seconds, but today it was so intense i just dropped out of the dream. Has anyone had any similar experiences to this?

Again, sorry for the long read. Thanks for your time!

I believe that REM and sleep paralysis is the same thing. I can't know for sure but it seems like the instant we start dreaming we also feel the vibration or well some substance through our body and that moment we start to dream and that moment we also get paralysed. This might be a wrong conclusion but either way you get paralysed when you dream so you don't have to worry about acting out your dream a WILD is a technique (Conscious entry into the dream without losing awareness from the awake to dream transition) and the DEILD is a WILD-METHOD it means (Dream-Exit Initiated Lucid Dream) It is basically the same thing as a "traditional WILD" except that you skip the relaxation process by sleeping first.

Hmm I have never heard of that problem before, although I also feel dizzy in my lucid dreams at first but I stabilize by rubbing my hands and screaming that I am dreaming and it somehow get a little more stable. Dream experiences vary so you need to be prepared for anything

Don't worry about writing a long post, the more detailed the easier it is to help you.

Keep up the good work and congrats to your WILD/DEILD
