Voices In My Head
Okay so I've been trying to attain lucidity on and off for a while now. But a few nights ago i realized something strange, and I'm not sure if its an onset to a lucid state of mind or like a WILD or something. Anyways what I realized is that while falling asleep if I am to starting visualizing a scene where people are talking, they start to take on conversations of their own. Like saying things, but I'm not thinking about what they are going to say, they just kind of do it on their own.
The problem is that as soon as I notice that they are talking on their own, they entire scene kind of stops, and I realize that I'm still just laying in bed. I have never seen anything, just heard. Is this something that happens when trying to WILD? And are people able to listen to these voices while at the same time realizing that they aren't actually there, and sort of continue the entire thing into a lucid dream?

I don't really get audio hypnagogic hallucinations, but I know some people do. All HH are best if you just observe them passivelly. Try to do motionless RC - like "if this would be a dream, I would levitate" and see if you perhaps in a dream when your HH ends. If not, just stay calm and you should get back to the HH in no time. I sometimes get the audio hallucinations, and I find them quite fascinating. Usually they're gibberish but sometimes they're coherent and quite insightful. But as for your question, it's just a matter of practice. Forget what anyone tells you to "do" about it, just practice practice practice and you'll figure out your own method.

I get auditory hallucinations all the time. The only times I don't notice them are when I'm really tired and I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
I know exactly what you mean when you say you sort of "wake up" when you notice the auditory hallucinations taking place. That really frustrated me too. To answer your question, yes, it is possible to listen to them AND stay in that half-awake/half-asleep state. To be honest, most of the time I mess it up, and either wake up too much to lose the audio or not stay aware enough that I fall asleep. It's really hard to keep that right balance. Oh and yep, if you can continue on into the dream through the auditory hallucinations, that would be a WILD.
I'm not sure there really is anything to it besides what cmind said — practice. But personally what has helped me is doing mantras. I use mantras in my native dialect, but in English it goes something like "see the dream". I'd mentally say these mantras until I start drifting off and the audio starts. And when they do, if I'm lucky, I stay calm and dreamy, and the dream starts forming along with the audio.
