About WILD
i just wanted to know if it is possible to WILD right as your going to bed? lets say im going to sleep at about 9-10 going to sleep for the first time. and i try to just lay there motionless for a while. but i dont think im doing it long enough.is it possible to just go to bed and lay down and try that or do you have to go to sleep for a while first?

Anything is possible, but you still need to make sure you do a technique, i would read a few WILD guides and get a good technique going. It seems easier to get WILDs the more lucids you get. I think DILD is good for beginning.

A WILD is short for Wake Induced Lucid Dream so no, when you first go to bed your best bet is a MILD. If a dream wakes you up in the middle of the night, or anything else for that matter (including your alarm clock), then you can attempt a WILD. In theory, a WILD might work because you are already relaxed and your brain is primed for returning to sleep and dreaming. Hope this helps.

Moved to WILD
I believe it will leave you frustrated. Although it's possible, it's so much harder and WILD is not easy in the most ideal of conditions. You will not know what you doing wrong, because the biggest hurdle is not attempting after some hours of sleep, so you will not be getting good results you could learn from.
Why not do it the easier way and after some experience try before sleep and see how it goes. Then you will be able to compare.

It doesn't hurt to try, but I would take it less seriously doing it without prior sleep. I've heard that it can increase the chances of a DILD or whatnot just because of the increased thinking about it whrn falling asleep. I don't know if that makes sense, but it's worth trying out for a few days to see what happens.

It is possible I've done it. I wouldn't recommend it though because the reason I succeeded was that I was 24 hours sleep deprived and well that made my brain force itself to REM instantly, and this dream wasn't as enjoyable as a lucid dream induced in a more natural way.
Although WILD only means that you go from the waking state to the dreaming state without losing awareness in between, and to say that it is possible to do that on bedtime with a normal sleep schedule is plausible, however it is not very plausible to believe that you can lay still for 1 h and 30 minutes that is required for REM, but it doesn't stop one from trying.. :) Meditation can help you achieve this goal, but it can be tough so you have to weigh the different ways of doing it with each other.
I used to make a WILD attempt each night at bedtime and well even though I didn't succeeded the WILD, there are still other factors that makes this attempt useful. Because by falling asleep this way I actually got more aware in my dreams that increased my chance for DILD! How crazy isn't that? I WILD to DILD o. O
There is a way to explain this with brain chemistry but I will not go into that now.
But remember as long as you try new things you'll always get new discoveries! So where am I going with this?
Don't be afraid of trying the impossible because you will discover new possibilities :meditate:
