First, you should try again. Good chance, your eyes wont twich again. Sometimes I do get elevated hearbeat and breathing. I think that's normal. If you look at a sleeping dog or a cat, you can tell when they dreaming because their eyes move and they breathe faster. So maybe it has something to do with being close to the dream and you noticing it and getting excited about it.
Do you wear a sleep mask? That may help with eyes. Other than that, I would say try again, try to ignore it, it may stop by itself.
