I figure if I don't sleep for a while my body will be begging to go to sleep and I can wild with little to no effort, is this hypothesis correct?

Uhh well eventually if you deprive your body of sleep, it'll adapt to where any sleep you get is REM sleep, like with the Uberman sleep schedule. Although you might just pass out instead of being able to even WILD at all. But, you could still give it a try and tell us how it works out for you.
Its not adviceable for a beginner like you. If you succeed in becoming Lucid, you cannot control it. Its like a baby who is learning how to walk climbing a mountain.
When one is sleep deprived its easy to WILD because you have what is called a REM-Rebound, which makes you start dreaming at the outset of sleep.
Alright, well I'm gonna give it a try. I'll keep you guys posted on how it all goes. I've had experience with LD's in the past, when I do reach lucidity I'm going to ensure vividness then start having fun.
Hmmm... Not really advisable ever. Depriving your body of sleep may raise the amount of time you are in REM, but in my experience not having a proper sleep schedule makes you lose awareness in waking life and in dreams. Making it impossible to become lucid (or close to it).
I'll put it this way. In order to WILD, you need to stay aware while you fall asleep. Now who would you rather have driving, a person with no sleep for 2 days, or a person well rested? Your mind is more prone to wander if you are sleep deprived and that is not good for WILD, you need to keep track of your mind. My guess is that you will fall asleep before you even know you are trying to sleep.
You can practice what you want of course, but I think that working on an existing LD method would make it easier until you get LDs frequently to find your own method.
Good luck anyways. :P
I gotta agree with BrandonBoss. I'll add that sleep deprivation is extremely unhealthy for both the body and mind. Also, sleep deprivation is the surest way to give yourself powerful, vivid nightmares. You may find that after a few of those nightmares you won't even want to WILD.
