When you relax and slip into sleep paralysis, would you start to have scary hallucinations right away, or do you only hallucinate when you panic.. Please answer!!.
I have only had one WILD, but I did not have any scary hallucinations whatsoever. This is what I experienced: I first hear some of the normal noises around me: the water in my aquarium, the fan. Then I focused on how my body felt, and started to feel my feet and legs grow a bit numb. Then I focused on what I saw behind my closed eyelids: at first I was not sure whether the images I saw were daydreams or dreams: a picture that was kind of like the MonaLisa but wasn't, a very bright corridor - anyway nothing scary. Then I realized for sure that I was fully dreaming when I saw that I had a Notification on dreamviews and I remembered that I had just been falling asleep, and this was a dream. So no scary stuff at all in my only WILD thus far.
Which of course does not mean that one could not have a scary WILD. All it says is that a WILD can also be not scary at all.
Why do you ask? Did you have a scary experience?
I've heard that with WILD's it really matters when you try them. Morning I think if I remember correctly is a good time after you've had lots of sleep already. My WILD was an afternoon nap - a very brief nap, since I only barely managed to click on the Notification and see what it was before I woke up.
I wish you all the best in your effort to WILD.
Most of my lucids are WILDS. The very first time I went through SP/vibrations I saw shadowy figures standing in my room watching me. I knew it was just my mind so I wasnt that scared. But since then I just keep my eyes closed until I'm in the dream
@Smouse
Okay. :D
When you enter SP do the hallucinations start immediately or do they only happen when you freak out/panic?
*I merged your threads. No need to ask same question multiple times.
Artist,
I see your many questions about SP. Perhaps it would help you to read these:
WILD (sageous)
SP explained
You are very unlikely to get SP when WILDing. Wheather you do or not, it makes no difference. It doesn't change the WILD procedure.
What you may get though are HH. Since you know you can get them, you are ready and they will not surprise you, no matter what will happen. Again, you may not get any of them, so worrying about them is not helping you at all.
Best thing you can do is read the links and try for yourself. No amount of peoples descriptions will do you any good, because you may have totally different experience. Read and try.
i dont experience Sleep paralysis....
The only time I experienced SP/HH, all that happened was that I saw a swirly pattern in front of my eyes, a "rushing" sort of sound, and a pleasant, benign voice very close to my head saying "Wake up". I never experienced anything scary. I believe that if you push thoughts along the lines of "oh no, SP, something scary is going to happen" then you won't really experience a scary SP. It's sort of like in a dream how worrying that there might be a serial killer behind a door will cause a serial killer to be behind a door (at least, that's what would happen to me).
I had my first true experience of SP just a few nights ago, let me tell you what happened to me.
Just before I start, I will say that I was scared at first, but once I realised what was happening....well, you'll see.
I remember waking up earlier in the night and hearing my two dogs running around and playing, I have two staffies, so they're not subtle.
I went back to sleep and I don't know how long it was, but I was woken by the sound of someone climbing my stairs towards my bedroom. I opened my eyes to get up out of bed and investigate, but found that I couldn't move, I mean literally, not even my head, all I could do was look towards the door with my eyes. I remember trying really hard to move my arms and trying to speak to wake my partner, but I couldn't even talk. So my heart started to pound out of my chest and a feeling of dread came over me, but it lasted literally 5 seconds or so, because as quick as it happened, I understood that I had woken in SP. As soon as I realised this, the sounds of the person climbing my stairs changed and became the true sound of my dogs running up and down the stairs. Now I tried to use it to DEILD, but the fact my heart beating had made me breathless and needing to inhale deeply a number of times, brought me completely out of SP and I was so excited after the fact, that I forgot all about getting lucid and just fell back to sleep thinking about SP.
I think I handled it quite well at the time, I could have really panicked and maybe put myself off. I am now wondering if it was SP or if indeed I had a false awakening or maybe even my first LD, who knows, but I am looking forward to my next encounter as now I know what to expect, I have made a mental note to handle it even better. I will also say that I now know I have experienced SP in the past, but not knowing what it was, had just put it down to nightmares. I have in fact encountered it on numerous occasions and just put it down to bad dreams, as they say, you learn something new every day.
In summation, don't fear SP before you get there, you'll just be hindering yourself, your SP may be quite pleasant, if you are scared, question it as soon as you can, once you do, the fear will drop and if your anything like me, wonder and excitement will take it's place.
Good luck.
Nicho...!
I got into SP and I heard softish voices but wasn't really scared, I couldn't make out what they were saying, feminine voices in general. Couldn't see anything until a while after where colours started to form in my vision which is when I got too excited about it and got out of SP.
