Numbness but no WILD?
Hey guys, so been trying to WILD for last few days. I have noticed that I am able to consistently maintain awareness and remain still but after an hour or so nothing happens. I also noticed that when I get impatient and move after laying there for an hour my legs and especially my arms are numb. Is this normal? Any indication that I'm making progress? Thanks! :)

I think you are staying awake too much. After an hour (or sooner, or later), you should be falling asleep. That will take care of your body, so you don't have to worry about that. And when you get an indication of a dream starting, let yourself fall asleep.
here is even better explanation WILD(sageous) Good luck:alien:

Yeah, I agree with gab 100% on this one. You simply aren't falling asleep. Keep in mind that when WILDing, your main goal is to fall asleep. No matter how perfect you perform the technique, if you don't actually fall asleep, its all for naught. You want to keep your awareness, but you can't be too actively aware. You almost have to teeter on the brink of consciousness and unconsciousness to get the process started. The numbness is likely from staying in one position for so long. I have no doubts you are doing most of the process correctly, but you just need to allow yourself to stay relaxed. Relax your body AND your mind. WILDing consistently is a fairly delicate process and it just takes practice and experience. Just keep at it and learn from each attempt. Good luck to you!

Numbness is something that comes with WILD a lot of times. But its not necessarily always related. Remember that even though WILD stands for "wake induced lucid dream" you still need to fall asleep in order to dream. There is a really tricky line between being aware and slipping into the dream world, and being too aware and staying awake. WILD is considered, by many, to be the hardest technique to master. But with a lot of practice and studying the technique itself you should be able to start having WILD's. :)
