Newbie issues
okay for one im not even sure i can go into SP. i feel minor vibrations and find it hard to breathe sometimes and i start to breathe differently ( i know im not supposed to. ) Any tips to not doing this would be appreciated. I only like the concept of WBTB and WILD. I tried to WBTB last night and i woke up 10 mins before the alarm and then i havn't been back to sleep since. I dont think i get very good HI's either. the first time i ever tried to WILD was three days ago and i saw colored splotches that moved and i felt as if my bed was spinning and flipping but i was magnetized to it. Then it either stopped or i passed out into a false awakening. I feel as if im good at maintaining consciousness, but too much so. I CANT PHYSICALLY SLEEP AND IT FRUSTRATES ME SO MUCHHHHHHHHHHHH. Any tips would be appreciated because i long for a chance of flying or talking to my inner self or even just being inside my own mind. Please and thank you.

Hello, welcome to DreamViews.
First of all, you should know that Sleep Paralysis is NOT necessary in achieving a WILD; it is not a part of the WILD process. The vibrations/buzzing/hallucinations you experience during a WILD attempt are almost certainly not sleep paralysis, they are merely normal bodily sensations you get to notice as your body is falling asleep and your mind is awake. Hypnagogia may also be absent, weak or strong during WILD attempts, and even if you don't have them, you can still WILD. In fact, some people even go directly into the dream once they lay down—it's all about your mindset and mental preparation.
tl;dr
Sleep paralysis has been waaay overblown and many people, especially newbies have misconceptions about it. SP is NOT necessary for a WILD. It is a medical condition which you can't really induce. For more info: http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-yoga...explained.html
As for WILD, if you're determined to pursue this technique, I highly suggest reading through this: WILD by Sageous
It is the most in-depth and informative WILD guide I know of, and i think it's best to read it before any other user tutorials. :D
Hmm so for tips:
•Figure out what amount of time is best for you to sleep before waking up for WBTB. Also, try to find out what is the best amount of time to stay up before attempting your WILD (or going back to bed). This can really play a huge role in how good you'll be able to fall asleep again. It might take many attempts to get it right but once you figure it out, you'll have better chances of lucidity.
•Do not focus on your physical sensations or wait for them. The more you think about physical things, the more it will just ground you into the physical world and prevent you from going into the dream. Focus on the dream, visualize, imagine, etc. and if you start getting HI, don't panic and just let it happen and make sure to keep your awareness. If you don't get HI, that's okay, you could just be going into the dream and not notice the HI. Just focus on forming/getting into your dream.
•When you're on your WBTB, stay away from bright lights. *insert scientific stuff here*. Light will definitely make you more awake and give you a hard time falling back asleep. Also, don't do too much activity. Just wake up enough to be mentally alert, but keep dreamy thoughts so you can go back to sleep better. It's best if you use your wbtb time to read or watch lucid inspiration recall your goals or daydream what you want to happen.
Good luck :D
