Trouble Transitioning

Let me start out by saying that I have had WILDs but only of the DEILD form, i.e. the WILD happened within a minute of me waking up and not moving. Lately, after waking up in the morning I'll do a breathing meditation to help me fall back asleep. The times that I'll continue to do it rather than stopping and falling asleep (in that order), I'll start to feel the effects of transitioning into a WILD, vibrations, imagery, numbness, my breathing speeds up, floating, falling, etc. However, every single time it happens I'll reach what feels like some sort of peak where my breathing really speeds up and then the feelings will simply go away and I won't transition. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong? It seems possible that since I'm doing a breathing meditation which depends on interactions outside of my mind, I might be anchoring myself in the real world when I should only be focusing on mental formations.

When I first tried having lucid dreams using the WILD technique, this happened to me very often. I think this can happen 1.) if you are too excited or you are putting too much pressure on yourself (because you want to have a lucid dream very badly haha)
2.) if you are not tired enough (sometimes also has something to do with excitement).
3.) if you are in the wrong sleep position (try out others then)

There can be a 1000 of reasons but the only way to find out, how it works better for you is to try it out and keep practicing. :)

Have you tried and stand up/rool out? You could be already in a LD without even noticing it.

This happened to me so many times. Until I told myslef I'll do a leap of faith and stand up or roll out of my bed. Every time I did that, I found myself in the dream, lucid.

Yeah? I'll give that a try, I only vaguely attempted that the last time, I didn't really commit to it however. Do you feel like you have to commit to it or is it more of a gentle suggestion you give to yourself?

Well, I read about people saying that when vibrations stop, or you end up just seeing blackness, or anything like that, you already may be in a dream. It was really hard for me to believe. But I said to myself, that I will give it a try.

So next time when I was WILDing, I saw my room, but thought nothing of it. I didn't realize that my eyes are closed, yet, I can see, so I must be in a dream. But I remembered what I intended to do and I stood up from my sofa. And I found myself in 3D environment of a lucid dream.

So since then, my mantra was "when I see my room, I get up". So I don't forget. And also after vibrations or anything strange I check if I'm in a dream. Sometimes I'm not, but I'm ok with that.
