      Arrow REM Atonia and LD?

Alright, so I just had some questions about this state that I find myself in from time to time. I used to get Rem Atonia a lot during my middle school days and I used to be absolutely terrified of them. Now that I know what they are, I'm not even remotely close of being scared of falling into this type of paralysis. In fact I embrace it and here's why. About 2 nights ago I fell into RA (Rem Atonia), and it's been a long time since I faced this kind of thing. But I relaxed myself and saw this as an opportunity to do a WILD. I closed my eyes and felt myself immediately get pulled across my bed and it scared me at first, but I soon realized, when I had opened my eyes, that it was just a hallucination, a sensation I guess you can say, and that I was exactly where I was before. I closed my eyes again and let go. I felt myself get pulled in faster and faster until I realized I was in a dream, RC'ed, and became lucid. The thing is, later on that morning after I woke up again, around 7-8ish, I kind of just chilled in bed and drifted between wakefulness and falling asleep. After a while RA had hit me again, and yet again, another WILD opportunity. I let go and found myself in yet another lucid dream.

The point I'm trying to make here is I've been able to achieve lucidity relatively easily within this state. Obviously this isn't a requirement to achieve a WILD, but preferably, I'd rather achieve lucidity by going into this state more often than not. How my middle school days have changed haha, but I guess what I'm trying to say is I wanna fall into RA more often. Is there really a way to do this, or something I can do so it can occur more frequently. I don't wanna sound weird lol, but honestly I've overcome my fear of RA/SP. I find it more of a straightforward gateway into a lucid dream and now I welcome it with open arms whenever I find myself in this state.

Congrats ! You can increase the odds by practising SSILD or a one-step version of it ( more like a classic WILD ). For the latter, you can simply pay attention to how your body feels when you are falling asleep, just like described in EWOLD by Laberge. If you wake up during the night, just repeat the process and you should catch those bodily feelings more and more often

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

Ayeee thanks for the reply! I'll check out SSILD, and I think I know what you mean by paying attention to how my body feels when I fall asleep. I tried inducing RA last night and parts of my body started feeling heavier, like my arms, even felt my pinkie, and eventually my whole hand go completely numb. I think I was almost at that point where I was about to induce it but I think I was too conscious about it and I couldn't exactly induce RA because I wouldn't let myself fall into a deeper sleep by paying attention too much. Anyways, thanks for the advice!

Oh yeah ! Probably you will become excited now and then ( « wow, i'm about to lucid dream » ).But as you get more and more confident in your ability to experience RA consciously ( as i think you can ) you wil no longer pay too much attention ( like i must not let this state go ) and you will relax and get it naturally. Usually, as soon as i feel my body in RA i try to get out of bed with my dream body ( it feels heavy at first, but then as i'm more in the dream, it gets better )
