WILD Counting Anchor becomes ineffective?

Hi Guys

Some time ago like few weeks ago i've started using anchor which was counting 0..1..2..0..1..2..0... At first week of using it aswell with help of Mzzkc's guide
I had 4 -5 lucid dreams but then this anchor started to become ineffective and i've ended up again falling asleep without consciousness most of time while using it during wbtb

I've thought about switching onto sivason's way aka counting till my mind wanders and then starting over but i'm not sure
Maybe i've started counting the wrong way

Aswell i'm confused about those things:
- How am i suppose to do the counting (Should i make this anchor automatic thought process that will go on without my interaction in mind or should i count manually but without use of too much mental focus or brainpower or maybe other way?)
- Should i switch over sivason's way or keep on 0,1,2 way but do it somewhat correctly because i might've been doing it the wrong way
- Should i let my mind wander and let the random thoughts flow but keep anchor below them or keep anchor above them?

Help would be really great :cheeky:
I feel like i've messed up somewhere on my road with WILD but i ain't sure where and how
And i have way too low expirence to figure out and possiblities are endless :uhm:

I think i've maybe figured something out
Maybe when we use automatic counting anchor it needs same taking care like pain anchor
We need to play with noticing it like we do with pain anchor (not too much, not too little a balance to be consciousness and fall asleep)

Let's say if we'd get song stuck in head we'd be able to fall asleep without problems thought it would play throught long time while falling asleep :zzz:
Same goes for automatic anchors, It's placed in background of mind, we don't give conscious attention to it, our mind falls asleep

So we can probably do WILD Mental Anchors the two ways:
- Automatic with giving x amount attention to it
- Manual while making sure that it won't disrupt our sleep and keep our mind's too busy

The problem I see with only counting to two is it does not let you know how close to loosing awareness you are. When I count to higher numbers and keep starting over I can tell when I am too close to just normal sleep and can gently stimulate my mind. If I space off before reaching five or six a couple times in a row I know I need to be careful. I will then switch to a mantra like "I am dreaming" for a few moments. This wakes my mind up a tiny bit and I go back to counting. Simply counting 0,1,2,0,1,2 does not let you know you've gotten to close to full loss of awareness.

You should not pay close attention to the anchor. You are attempting to trick your body into believing the mind is sleeping. That is why I say fantasizing is not a good anchor. Now, after the body is truely asleep, then you can move to visualization. Before that any anchor should be flat out boring and un stimulating.

Great point, glad to see this in writing. Visualizing dream scenes for me is "too interesting" and keeps me awake. I'll give counting a try again.

I've tried counting up to 15 yesterday and it resulted in False Awakening :)
I have expirenced twice spaceoff from anchor and it seems like i was in dream's bed after 2nd spaceoff without any signs of transmission :D


I've got one more question if you don't mind

When i'm trying to WILD right after waking up from alarm
Aswell with anchor i'm losing consciousness
There's no any signs nor spaceoffs, i'm counting and bam unconscious

Would staying awake for like 20 minutes after waking up solve this issue?

I think that it might help since in some of my WILD attemps which succeded i had troubles falling asleep.
I could wake up and use anchor for like 15 - 45 minutes without falling asleep and just then Paralysis, WILD Entrance n' lucidity would happen

Maybe staying awake could reproduce successful effects of being unable to sleep before WILD?

You need to find a perfect ballance. It should take a couple minutes to fall asleep, not seconds, but it should not take over say 10-15 minutes. So experiment with how long you stay awake.
