Why does my brain lie to me ?

Hello,
so it's hard enough for me to achieve WILD in the first place, and the few times i did it was by chance (Eg. woke up in the middle of the night and in the last moment before drifting i retain conscious), those dreams where the best i had, mostly i don't have problem reaching hallucinations, i success one in every 3 times, but the problem is that my brain is a B*tch, when actually planning a WILD, and trying it, after finally getting my heart stop beating like crazy, and start the final stages, i get the idea that i failed, and that i get this every-time and it leads no where, sometimes i even have this idea while i am paralyzed and i un-paralyze myself (moving face muscles and breathing fast) i just believe that i am failing and that i achieve this point every-time and it leads to no-where, in-reality i never achieve this point, and i only realize that when i get up and halt the process. WHY BRAIN? WHY?
if my brain didn't trick me and i go on with the process (very few times, maybe 3 or 4) i start to get VERY, and i mean VERY scary hallucination, i can deal with buzzing, faces floating or even a demon whispering my name, but what i see is beyond that, and very unpredictable, one moment i am peacefully looking at the back of my eyeleds at the nice soothing colours swirling around,feeling i am going thrue a tunnle, happy that i achieved this point without my brain tricking me, then BAM *surprise motherf*cker* an awful face like i've never seen before flashes before me (only a scream missing to make it a jump scare), like it came from the very depth of hell, and i can't get those faces out of my mind to the moment, it's really hard to keep my eyes closed (and not pissing my self ) when this happens, and if I managed to keep them closed i just reverse back to the first stage (and as a bonus my heart is beating like crazy, IT IS beating and i am not imagining it).
anyone had similier problems? it wasn't like that when is started years ago, but i stopped LD all together and i am just coming back.

The few times when you achieved WILDs in middle of the night could've been actually a DEILDs
The DEILD Method is kinda shortened WILD
You wake up while remaining motoinless and keeping eyes closed
And that tricks your body into thinking that your still asleep
So it tries to put you back into a Dream if your still in active rem phase or atleast at very end of it :yeah
Even if you move accidently during the DEILD Attempt it might still succeed since your body is in near-sleep state, so it will 're-fall asleep' itself quite fast.
And after all that you just lie there still yet relaxed, waiting till transition to dream occurs.

You might try going directly for DEILD Technique if you had successes with it and you belive that you can do it :cheeky:

Anyways and for the second part:
Sivason mentioned that WILDing might seem alike unnatural drug induced mindstate or just confusing one
I myself did stupid stuff during my WILDs at times. Being too lazy to continue doing my technique and falling asleep unconsciously, getting up out of bed because i had sudden wave of uncomfortability, when seeing 3D Scene formed out of hypnagonic hallucinations trying to grab it and in the result getitng up out of bed. Our mind might be a little more dull than usually with WILDs since our body is asleep and mind barely awake :yeah?

The answer for this problem would be probably 'Willpower' i guess.
Before attempt load yourself with willpower and confidence that you will not quit WILD Attempt no matter what etc.
And this might actually fill your mind with that plan enough to not disrupt your WILD?

And about the scary faces, weird sounds, vibrations and any other sensations that appear when we transition from waking world to dream world
You shouldn't bother much with their looks, even if they are scary as heck. Your encountering yourself this stuff everytime your body puts you into the dream. It's natural mechanism that happens yet you don't remember that process cause you were unconscious when that happend (Unless you were WILDing?). Whether you see something scary or that makes your mind uncalm, keep in mind that it's all fake and you see that kind of stuff everynight so there's nothing to worry about :yeah

thanks, sorry for the late reply but i wanted to reply after trying what you said "will power".
i said i wont stop, no matter what, and surprise surprise it worked "somehow" i got to a point where i -all of a sudden- saw alot of colours coming into my view (like the kick of an LSD trip) weird since usually i see other things that make sense, (maybe the fact that i tried lsd after i stopped lucid dreaming years ago have something to do with it?), anyway, i was so happy, because i can't think of a better way to go into a dream, i felt my bed i moving under me, then...nothing, i just went back into looking into the back of my eyes, nothing at all, i waited a bit and nothing happened? i tried it twice with same result, and maybe i should mention that before it kicked in i had a HUGE urge to scratch my head, but i resisted it, it faded away and right after that i started "tripping", but why didn't i move to the next phase?
please help i am desperate .

EDIT: i should mention that my heartbeat went up both times, not because i am scared this time, but because i am excited, and i also should mention i used sleep hypnosis, and this is actually the fastest time i get into any stage (only 30 mins from totaly awake).

I belive being excited was the cause of fail during your wild attempts maybe?
Sometimes being excited, waiting for something or just fearing of something might prevent us from sleeping (Natural Mechanism?),
Times ago i used to be excited for Game's Halloween Updates so much that i were unable to fall asleep and even if i did i woke up quite early out of reason :yeah
The same mechanism might prevent your body from putting your mind into dream world maybe because something is keeping it in reality anchored,
Sudden wave of emotions during transition into dream world might wake your body up,
Same during dreams when their stability is low and we get suddenly excited?

Solution for that issue is simple though.
Get used to WILDing State and the sensations you feel during it so they will become nothing to be amused about and then it will be for you much easier to progress with WILDs since attempts won't be disrupted anymore by your emotions.

You can do it faster yet more exerting way too:
Before WILDing empty your mind of any expectations, fears and excitement.
Tell yourself that your just going to sleep, nothing big, except the fact that you will retain awareness this time :yeah

If you will start to see hypnagonic hallucinations, hear hypnagonic sounds or just sense transition stuff like vibrations and that will make you feel excited then tell calm yourself and think that: There's nothing to be excited about, it's just transition into a dream world which i'm having everynight as i enter a regular dreams. So why should i be excited?

You want to be as calm and relaxed as you are when you fall asleep at night.
The best would be just not paying attention to any of sensations
Just focus on technique which you use to retain consciousness during WILD

I myself find it easier to WILD when there's no any sensations or hypnagonic stuff going on.
This stuff tends to distract me and keep stuck in wild transition phase (Or just kick me out of it if i'il play it wrong way?)
The best WILDs i have are those during which i don't get any sensations at all
Just lying in bed, using my choosen technique and doing so till i'il get into dream world :cheeky:

If those sensations happen to me then i try to keep myself a passive observer
If i'il focus, bother myself or care too much with those sensations then it might disrupt or destroy wild attempt.
Example: Focusing too much on hypnagonic images might make them gone (My Personal Experience).

This stuff i wrote down in this post is mix of knowledge from people aswell as my personal experience,
Don't take everything that i wrote down as an absolute truth. I myself had problems with WILDing due to keeping myself limited to other people's words
After i've started experimenting it become way way easier for me to progress with WILDs.

Afterall WILDing is probably most personal technique out of all of lucid dreaming ones :-P

thanks alot, i'll try putting those thoughts "it's only a dream..etc" in my own hypnosis audio, since i found out that using it gets me faster, since it stops the need to think and acts as an anchor in the same time, therefor fastening the whole process, i am gonna try it in an hour and come back with results :).
