First successful WILD and it was Wild. Long. 2 Questions at end, please!

So for months now I had been practicing LD. I was practicing more with DEILD since I often wake from dreams in SP. I was also adding in reality checks and I had been becoming lucid about once a week. Then all of a sudden this past week, it's been almost everyday. I noticed the last couple, I was becoming lucid and then doing a RC, instead of what I used to do which was do a RC and become lucid.

I had tried WILD, but I could never get into the dream. I would imagine a dream scene that I was moving in, which I would start to feel as if my body was moving but I couldn't get past that part and it would usually snap me back to my physical body to start over, hence why I was trying the DEILD. I would feel all the vibrations, body contorted, and then I thought maybe I needed to open my eyes..blah blah..you get it. I realized maybe thinking of the dream scene wasn't for me and I just needed to wait until one was there.

So last night, I woke up at 4:30 am, but not from a dream so I knew I would be starting my dreams soon. I woke again at 5:30 am this time from a dream. Since I had been moving, I couldn't do the DEILD and I didn't wake up with SP. So to me I had just laid down, and I heard my husband talking in his sleep. I heard him whisper two words, twice. I swung my arm out to move him because it sounded creepy to me. I swung and realized he wasn't there because he was on the couch. As soon as I realized that and my arm got back to my side, I entered SP, which is a really weird way to enter it. I am really used to getting it, and it even freaked me out. I mean I had just been moving and then Bam. I panicked a little but calmed myself and said obviously I had been on the edge of sleep and that was the whispering.

I started having the vibrations, floating feeling, sounds etc. I have had it before but somehow combined with the whole scary whispering thing, everything seemed like a lot. There were many times, I had to consciously relax, and go with it. Then all of a sudden it stopped, and usually I would get stuck here, but I read a post about when it stops that's good and that's when you can roll out of your body. Past times I would try to roll and either I couldn't or my whole body would move (or so I thought) and I would start over again. This time it's like the stars aligned and I rolled out. I was then standing in my bedroom but it was so obviously off from my real room, there was no reason to RC. Went downstairs and tried to stabilize by looking at the insides of a ticking clock. I looked at my hands, and I was like wow, they really do look freaky in a dream! lol I won't bore you with my dream scenes.

However, what is really interesting is there were multiple times I woke up, when these would happen I would not move, and either think of the last thing I was doing in the dream, or just let it happen naturally again in the darkness of my eyelids. Weirdly, it would happen almost immediately and it was fast tracked. the only down side is each time I had to roll out of my body and start in my bedroom. Is there an easier way than this in regards to that aspect? I did this 5 separate times, so I would consider it doing a WILD with subsequent dream chaining. One of the times, I felt only half of my body float up, and it stayed dark and it felt like my husband and I were having sex, I knew with the orgasm I would wake up but I also knew this was the 4th time of waking up and I could just re-enter again no biggie, and I was right. I was really working on my flying in these dreams, because I had been recently having an issue with taking flight and I wanted to rectify that problem since I had always been a natural at it.

My two questions: Is there an easier way with WILD's and dream chaining to not have to roll out of my body and start in my bedroom over and over again?
Also I try to stabilize and obviously my LD's aren't lasting that long with 5 separate awakenings, any advice on how to stabilize better or when to know to do it? Besides the orgasm one I wouldn't have any idea I was going to awaken or I would have stabilized right then and there.

Also I can get why some are afraid of LD if they haven't researched properly. I am used to SP, I've had it since I was young but the whole trip of the WILD, was crazy and since I had to calm myself multiple times, then I would assume someone who hadn't researched it thoroughly would be so frightened.

sounds like you are doing great! I guess most folks here would be very happy with this kind of progress.
As for your questions, I think you just need more experience to gain proficiency in WILDing. From this point on I guess you are mostly on your own. Every LD you induce via WILD will make you more comfortable and skillful and eventually you will only have to exit bed once and then have one long LD. Some people don't roll out of bed at all, they just jump right into the dream. I guess it's just something your mind thinks it needs to do somewhere deep inside. When I had my first LD I could barely stand up at all, it was a harrowing struggle. Three LD later I was basically just getting up like normal with minimal hindrance.
So, dream on and you will get better just by doing it. LD is a skill that has to be learned and honed to get better at it. Theory brings you far, but you still have to do it yourself and gain experience.

Stabilization works best for me if I spend the first moments or minutes inside the dream to really get myself into the presented dream world. That's also my bedroom for me ;) atm I usually first walk upstairs (my flying starting point) in that gloomy darkness before I start to stabilize the dream. My get go stabilization rite is:

- nose pinch RC. It truly, physically assures me that this is really (!) a dream. No doubts left after it.
- check the wall next to me. Feel it, really inspect it up close. Even lick it or smell it. Get all your senses involved and really get into your dream world. You should by then also see a huge jump in clarity of the dream world.
- check my hands, my freckles on my skin. Recall and say my name, location and occupation out loud. If I have a specific goal, I also say it out loud.
- another nose pinch, for the lols :) it feels so cool.

And then most of the time I leap out the window and fly the perfect skies.

I later stabilize whenever I get that "the dream is about to fade!" feeling, most of the time it's a one second warning so I have to react really fast. I usally drop to the floor on my stomach and start to lick the tiles, carpet, whatever is there. It really gets me back into the dream asap. But I need to do it asap, or I will just wake up.

If I have good dream control I stabilize by checking the walls or objects every few minutes. It seems to prolong the dream a lot. I also nose pinch RC every few minutes as it seems to remind me best about my condition and keeps me from losing myself too much into the dreams plot.

please do! I love reading what other ppl here dream. Dreams are so cool and freaky. This is what this forum is for - you should start doing your dream journals here. It's fun! And it is a superb exercise to keep your lucid dreaming up. This skill deteriorates faster than you aquire it. If you stop reading about it, stop keeping a DJ etc you will very rarely LD anymore.

I agree with Djaxup, share your dream scenes their always interesting! :)

Wondering if you were already dreaming when you heard your husband whisper? Just asking because sometimes we "dream WILD" without realizing we're already dreaming. Thoughts on stabilization:

Don't stress about losing the dream. Only times I ever wake from dreams is when I stress about not being in control, or my heart rate goes up--basically anything that alerts your brain into full wakefulness. So just relax and have fun. But if you really feel you are "losing it" and need to stabilize, rubbing hands or tactilely engaging with the dream are good ways to become stable. Run your hands on concrete, grab up handfuls of dirt, anything to fool your brain into thinking the dream is the "real" world.

Concerning what your starting dream scene is. Shrug. Just leave the house, go down in the basement, or spin a new dream scene (LaBerge's technique). Just keep reminding yourself during the spin, and while waiting for the new scene, that whatever you see next is a dream. Remain aware and you'll be fine.

I actually find I am "more aware" when I awake in my home. Fewer distractions: dark, quiet, no DCs except for cats (lol) and sleeping wife, so easy to remember goals. Good time to practice dream control, meditation, or whatever you want.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't already sleeping since I had just gotten back to bed after going to the bathroom. Also I didn't start feeling the feelings of the WILD until after I heard the whisper, got back into position, and then SP started. I assume the whisper was HI starting early.

My house wasn't empty, there was a bunch of DC in my first level. What's interesting is the whole house looked so different from my real house. Usually people will say that when they start in their bedroom they assume it's a false awakening since it seems so much like their real room.

What's weird is I don't write down my dreams. I can usually remember scenes from them, but I find it hard to explain the scene I'm seeing in writing. I usually can't remember whole dreams, just snippits. I can see the scene in a bunch of detail but can't explain what Im seeing to others.

I can remember some scenes from each dEILD. The first was me coming down the stairs and there was a bunch of DC there. I remember looking at my hands and laughing at how funny they really did look in a LD, there was a lot of fingers and they were bunched together. I stabilized by looking at the clock. I remember flying in a lot of them because it's one of my favorite things to do when lucid. I remember once thinking I will be flying up above the clouds and it was breathtaking. The clouds were sparse and below them I could see the twinkling if lights and reflections off of water. I remember flying from house to house to look into windows. Then the orgasm dream, which was weird. I was still in my bed, and it seemed only half of my body was floating but that half of my body was having sex, and it seemed if someone opened the door, they would see a half floating body thrusting! lol I mean I knew that wasn't the case but it felt so real. The whole dream was dark though.

I find it really hard to know when the dream is about to end. It seems to end very abruptly, and all of a sudden I'm just awake. However, since I'm really good at knowing to stay still, I think that was how I was able to DEILD each time, even though I can't seem to do it when just waking from a dream in general. I love the feeling of SP so I always remain still to see if I'm in it. I think because after a bit in my dream, I forget to stabilize. I do it in the beginning but I need to start remembering to do it frequently.

I'm a little afraid this was just a fluke. I've been trying to do this for months now and then all of a sudden it happens and I DEILD five times, seems to good to be true. I hope that's not the case but it was just so random.
