      Wild always leads to nothing

So every night for about 2 weeks now I have woken after about 5 hours of sleep and attempted wild, it seems I am lying there for about an hour and nothing happens exept for numbness sometimes. After about an hour a usually give up but just to make sure I do a reality check which is always failed. What am I doing wrong?

Note: I have been experimenting with how many hours I should sleep before getting up but it doesn't help

Are you allowing yourself to fall asleep? Because the most important part in a successful WILD is falling asleep, closely followed by maintaining self awareness.

If you wake up after five hours of sleep, you'll be at the end of a REM and probably not catch it.
WILD is all about timing, so you should try with 4,5 hours instead, or maybe 6, or 7,5.

This helped me get a better understanding of REM periods: http://www.luciddreamexplorers.com/d...hour_graph.jpg

      I hope this helps!

Thank you both for the help and it seems when I try to let my body fall asleep, I fall asleep entirely, and when I try to keep awareness my whole body stays awake. My problem is I can't do both

I recognise this very, very much and it was the reason for me to quit WILD'ing until I have a nice basis in LD'ing from MILD and DILD. I don't have a solution myself so I can't help you but I'll be sure to follow this thread!

Sleap phases do not work that simple like in image , there are not in exsactly at same place every night . But still is very good idea try different times.
If dound get result to about 25min is better end the try and work on improving methods.

Try to describe what exsatly you doing in you WILd attempt, did you see some flashes of images ? did you move your eyes or focus to them , any techniqes ...?

Ok so first I get up and the go to the bathroom (trying to avoid all light ) then I get back in bed and do reverse blinking til it's hard to open my eyes and then I just count in my head for a very long time and the only thing that happens is numbness. I wait and wait and nothing else happens, no flashes or anything

Try this: lie on your back, and immitate a sleeping persons breath, while counting your exhales. When your body and mind is fully relaxed, roll back to your normal sleeping position, and start visualizing the numbers you count. If nothing happens after 20 min. you can try visualizing the place you want to start your dream.
