Question Instant lucid dreaming; Help me out

I would like to get a discussion started on how to instant lucid dream. Based on my experience I'm convinced its possible, and I would like to read how other people think about it, or what their experiences are.

Our perspectives are either enabling or disabling us. If you want to do something you have to set your mind to it. That said, I want to instant lucid dream, anywhere, anytime.

When I sit down, and I close my eyes, I am sucked into some kind of dreamlike scenario in a couple of minutes. It is very fragile, when I notice it, it is gone and I can only remember the last fragments of it. Sometimes I can remember a whole lot more. And thus it seems that only in those couple of minutes of sitting down with my eyes closed I have experienced some kind of dream already. It contains vivid images, sound, feelings, emotions, a story, everything... I come to think of I am dreaming whole day long. If you google on that, you will find others to agree.

Now last time I did this after waking up in the night: I went downstairs and I was focussing on how it would be to instant lucid dream. I was sucked in a dreamlike scenario, just like I get sucked in during daytime in no-time. I did some WILDs so I know how it is like, but this was different. Like I said it was the same experience as when I sit down with my eyes closed during day time. Only now I was able to become lucid, I deliberately changed something in the scenario and I 'popped out', the experience was over, right after changing something, I could just experience the result of me changing the scenario with my will. It was like ["hey this doesn't have to be like that, I do it my way, He I am .."] lucid.. and the experience ended ([ ] = the moment in the dreamlike state) .

In all things you can see patterns, like fractals, or whatever. I can recall my first lucid dream years ago, I was so excited that I became lucid that I immediately woke up. And the experience I described above felt pretty much the same.

So why should I set my believe to only be able to lucid dream during the night after having slept for so long? I can imagine that when you are submerged in a dream for a long time during the night it is easier to maintain in that dream modes and becoming lucid.

But my experience convinced me I could instant lucid dream. I only need to be able to stabilize/control the state, insteading of waking up/acting out of it. Just like most people experience waking up to physical reality when noticing they are dreaming for the very first times.

      What do you think?

      Thanks for reading!

I saw your post when you just posted it and found it very interesting, but at the time I couldn't really think of anything valuable to reply. Seeing how this gets absolutely no attention and I'd really like to see this turn into a nice discussion, I decided to say something now. I think the main reason for the lack of replies is that your title puts a lot of people off immediately; the general opinion around here seems (at least from what I've seen since I became a member) to be that there is no way to instantly and reliably have a lucid dream. 'Instantly' is often associated with lack of effort and people who have just read about the possibilities of LD'ing who want to experience it fully and immediately without putting time into it.

As to your post, it comes across to me as some kind of interactive daydreaming; it seems very interesting but I think it requires quite the visualisation skill. Do you have exceptional visualisation/imagination skill and, if not, what exactly is your technique? You describe it as 'focussing on what it would be like to instantly LD' but in what way do you do this?

Its possible but not easy i have some experince with and done some research about how it work. Its very complex many variables and there are many ways how to do it.

In theory you can be in LD in few seconds.

My record for fully formed LD is about 7min from wake state during the day.Theoretical limit with this method is so far about 1min for fully formed LD.

Other method can get you there faster is only a seconds and work also with eyes open but i so far i not do many expedimnets to stabilze it . Now is only weak images sometimes in form of short flash max i get some scene object are rognizible but not have much of details.

It's amazing that something like this is possible but I can't think of any immediate benefits. It does remind me of Mylynes' Advanced Vision Control; he claimed to be able to alter reality (in waking life) to his likings, to the extent that he could mentally change the color of his computer screen, walk out of the room and back in without it changing. He took it much, much further (I think the thread might interest you; just search for Advanced Vision Control) but it was also based on lucid dreaming instantly and without having to sleep.

InnerVision: thanks for info about Mylynes' Advanced Vision Control LINK : http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-cont...-tutorial.html

I read so far only his while awake techniqe and is very intersting it seem he use very diffrent technige from mine. I use techniqe tahat activate abstract concepts and usualy precive concepts not imges becouse images cause big limitation in translation. I have some method how to get image form concept and it become more stable but stil is a way concept to image . His method seems to mi like direct influnce of neurones in early visual cortex. From my standpoint is very hard much harder than use concepts its easier activate concept than can be represented by one neurone than precisly activate thousnds of neurones in early visual cortex. Telepathy and dream symbolism also use concept to precept way becouse is need less resources.Method seems interesting and i plan try it when i have some time.

Open gate to your mind and even allow it acces to normal preception can be very dangerous it must be taken seriously.Have it under control is big help to many areas but have and not have control is very fast way to go mad.

That sounds very logical indeed; if I understand you correctly, you are talking about the difference between imagination and visualization. Even though it is relatively easy to imagine full environment or conversations it is extremely difficult to actually visualise it, let alone with your eyes open. The technique Mylynes used is indeed quite dangerous; there've been discussions on his seriousness but his last post was him saying goodbye to the waking world, attempting to live on in his own creations. It's probably better not to fire up that discussion again but it does demonstrate the potential mental harm this can cause.

About the danger i have some experinece with it about 3 years ago i do one expediment i try imporve quality of visualization by chnge preception priority of its signal. Unfortunetly it not that easy imporvment in images was only a minor becouse it was blosk by other things but it lower priority of normal vision and the new free space udes my sub-C to get various mesages and new senses to me. It get few months to found what happend and learn how to work with that. It take me almoust year to control it and precept from it.Still worth it for me i learn a lot form it and how to do better in future . Is very hard path to expediment with this vithout preparation nad guidence.Worst part was lowering of normal vision and noramal reality preception this alsou cause lowering of positive feedback lops and lowering of wakefullnes in some cases.Experince goes forum funny to totaly crazy ones like possesion by some beaings, seeing ghosts in everyday life tlak to them.

That sounds quite scary I am not really willing to experiment with these things myself but as an aspiring Psychological Biology student I find it very interesting to read about. I was wondering though whether it has helped you in any way with lucid dreaming? Looking at your LD count, what is your method anyway?

Moust of my LD was DILD years before this in that time i use mainly reality cheks, dream diary and some sugestions my best is about 250LD/year. I have many other interest and school nad work at that time limit my time so LD count go down . I also start intrest more about how it work and work on theory and some expediments. This expedimnets help me understand like LD work form many differnt points of view form esoteric to neurosience. In last about year and half i have very low LD count one of reasons is intense work on emotions and expedimenting with mind programming it use lot of resources and lowering chace to LD.
Theoreticly i can decide where to put resources and inreace LD chance. LD is not my main goal now i use more practical aplication like intreface to my mind allow me to change various setup , change programs, read info about health state...

I have many methods for LD and information but is too complex to explain it here. I have also many models points of view tahat i can use and swithing between them one of it try to be scientific as possible
and other is more esoteric/magic like with lover limitations by belief systems.

here is few notes : http://www.dreamviews.com/research/1...echanisms.html

Thanks for the answer! I looked through your notes and even though they're quite a bit above my level for now (still in high school) it is very interesting to read. Understanding how LD'ing (and other psychological phenomena related to perception, awareness etc) works is essential for me to really get good at it. Even though I am open to spirituality and supranatural occurences I have a hard time believing in it without a) having experienced it by accident or b) knowing how it works. I have had one or to short LD's but without understanding the processes behind MILD I find it difficult to confidently set an intention of having an LD.

EDIT: Reading over this again it might be a little strange. What I mean with supranatural/spiritual occurences is actually things that are commonly labeled as spiritual/supranatural while I suspect that they are scientifically proveable.

Many of this things can be explained by science but not all of them at this point. Im open minded and try to use many pints of view usualy during the experince it betre not overanalise it and leve it for later.
I exeperinced many crazy sutff but still not have any solid scientific proof. Best you can do allwayes be open mindet skeptic nver close theme by yes/no true/not true but rather use probability based of current knowledge. In my case i use this probabylities but from any points of view is a also good trick belive is very strong thing and usefull but you must have controll over it . Its like you switch your belive system for limited time or play to belive something and after that you analise result from your normal point of view.Very hard things for many people is not to by catch be belief of false intrepretion of experince. Have a experince thats feel absolutly real still not tell you if it was reall or not many people do the mistake : its feel more real than reality this must be real world/sensation... or in reverese this week fealing is only meaningless halucination good for nothing.

My "powers" are still not good enought to provide good scientific proof but from experince is i can tell tahat get some of resuls simply by chance is very low like 1:5000
