Potentially New Wild Technique/ New way to enter Sleep Paralysis

The other night I had a lucid dream, and in attempt to change the scene, i accidentally forced the dream to end. But, i awoken to a state of sleep paralysis. I was extremely excited, and then tried to wild. but it quickly wore off.

Now,....from this experience i came up with a theory. theory: Maybe by (purposely) prematurely ending the lucid dream, we could catch the sleep paralysis in action, then use that to wild.

Now,....i want you people to try this, and see how it goes. If successful then please let me know. I don't steadily lucid dream, so it may be months before i get a chance to try this, and that is why i ask you to please give it a go. :seeker:

This is what we call a DEILD.

The deal is, it's not really worth it to interrupt your lucid dream unless you have a specific goal in mind (like writing down a dream you really don't want to forget for example), because you'll be destabilizing your sleep cycle and thus shortening your lucid dream (this is, if your DEILD is successful, which may not be the case for some people).

Also, most people don't tend to experience postdormital sleep paralysis, but can still DEILD in situations of interruption of a lucid dream, so I'd say that particular component could be dismissed ;)

You don't even have to prematurely end the LD. Since you are already lucid, you can just pay attention and when you notice that it ended and you just laying there thinking it sux, just remember that you are still dreaming and bam, you are back in a LD. With or without any transitions like a WILD would have. But the whole proces is much shorter since you are already relaxed and more than half asleep. Which is the longest part of a WILD. And yup, it's a DEILD - dream exit initiated lucid dream.

I would say no. I have forcefully ended lucid dreams 100s of times (at least) and have never woken up in sleep paralysis. I do this anytime I am having a nightmare and using dream control doesn't seem to remedy the situation.

I guess I will join the chorus here, Nerofaora, and say that SP is not necessary for WILD/DEILD, or the process you list in your OP, if you still think it's something else. There is no need to end your LD in the possible hope of waking in SP. Indeed, there is no need ever to wrest yourself away from a LD, as that seems very counter-intuitive.

SP really should not be a goal in all this. The art is called lucid dreaming, after all, and not SP'ing. If you are already in a LD, then you have met your primary goal; it simply makes no sense to abandon that goal just to land in SP so you can just lie there and literally do nothing.
